Glucose-regulated protein 78 kDa (GRP78), a key marker of endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS), is upregulated in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues, but its role in hepatitis B virus (HBV)-induced tumorigenesis remains unclear. This study aimed to investigate the contribution of GRP78 to HBV-associated tumor development and explore the ERS pathways involved. Hypobaric hypoxia exposure occurs at high altitudes, including plateaus, and affects normal intestinal function and microbiota composition. Exposure induces an intestinal inflammatory response and oxidative stress injury, ultimately disrupting intestinal homeostasis and causing barrier damage. Thus, due to its anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, and intestinal microbiota-regulating properties, is a potentially effective probiotic intervention to protect the intestinal barrier during low-pressure hypoxia on plateaus.

Polylactic acid (PLA) can serve as a biodegradable alternative to traditional petroleum-based plastics, but its poor impact resistance and high production costs limit its applications. In this study, different contents of epoxidized epoxy soybean oil (ESO) were added as plasticizer to melt blend with polylactic acid (PLA), polypropylene (PP) and cotton stalk fiber (CSF), examining its impact on the mechanical properties, thermal stability, microstructure, and crystallization behavior of the blends. The results indicated that ESO reacted with PLA and CSF to form branched polymers and microgels.

Background: Pulmonary cryptococcosis is a fungal infection of the lungs, particularly challenging to treat in patients with multiple comorbidities such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cirrhosis. Fluconazole is a first-line medication for the treatment of pulmonary cryptococcosis, but currently there is a lack of clinical medication experience in obese patients with multiple comorbidities, especially in dose adjustment after treatment failure.
