We focus specifically on the detrimental effects of alcohol-associated liver disease (ALD) on human health. Given its insidious onset and increasing incidence, increasing awareness of ALD can contribute to reducing the prevalence of liver diseases.

Predictive factors for iliac vein compression syndrome in patients with varicose veins.

Objective: This study aimed to identify predictors of iliac vein compression syndrome (IVCS) in patients with varicose veins and to evaluate the necessity of routine lower extremity venography for preoperative assessment of these patients.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on data from 1165 patients with lower-limb varicose veins who underwent preoperative venography at Wuhan Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, China, between January 2019 and September 2023. Logistic regression analyses identified factors associated with concurrent IVCS, and a nomogram was constructed based on these findings.

Water quality assessment and source identification of the Shuangji River (China) using multivariate statistical methods.

Multivariate statistical techniques, including cluster analysis (CA), discriminant analysis (DA), principal component analysis (PCA) and factor analysis (FA), were used to evaluate temporal and spatial variations in and to interpret large and complex water quality datasets collected from the Shuangji River Basin. The datasets, which contained 19 parameters, were generated during the 2 year (2018-2020) monitoring programme at 14 different sites (3192 observations) along the river. Hierarchical CA was used to divide the twelve months into three periods and the fourteen sampling sites into three groups.

Primary leiomyosarcoma is a rare cause of femoral triangle mass: A case report.

Objectives: Primary leiomyosarcoma in the femoral vein is an extremely rare vascular disorder and is often misdiagnosed. In order to improve the knowledge and treatment of this disease, a case of leiomyosarcoma in the femoral vein was reported.

Methods: We report the case of a 58-year-old woman with a leiomyosarcoma of the femoral vein and treated successfully by surgical resection.

Outcome of AngioJet mechanical thrombus aspiration in the treatment of acute lower extremities deep venous thrombosis.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety in patients with acute lower extremity deep venous thrombosis who underwent pharmacomechanical thrombectomy (PMT, AngioJet mechanical thrombus aspiration).

Methods: In this retrospective, 424 consecutive patients with acute lower extremity deep venous thrombosis from three institutions were enrolled in the study from January 2015 to December 2018. Of these, patients were divided into two groups, AngioJet group ( = 186) and catheter-directed thrombolysis (CDT) group ( = 238).

Methods: In this retrospective study, 51 consecutive patients with symptomatic ISMAD received endovascular management from three institutions between January 2011 and December 2019.These patients were categorized into group A (endovascular treatment was used as the first-line therapy) and group B(endovascular treatment was used as the second-line therapy).
