Severe lower limb spasticity can hinder motor tasks and negatively impacts the quality of life in patients with cerebral palsy. Selective dorsal rhizotomy is a well-established neurosurgical intervention aimed at reducing muscle spasticity in patients with such neuromuscular conditions.
