The carbon-neutral target presents a significant challenge for the sewage sludge treatment and disposal (SSTD) industry, necessitating strategic planning for a low-carbon transition. However, flexible and comprehensive carbon emission analysis tools to support this goal remain lacking. This study presents a carbon emission analysis tool to evaluate the carbon emission characteristics and future mitigation potentials of SSTD.

In this study, reverse quantitative microbial risk assessment was used to estimate the daily critical exposure time (CET) of sewage workers exposing to Staphylococcus aureus bioaerosol emitted by three emission sources facilities in a WWTP based on either U.S.

In this study, a quantitative microbial risk assessment approach based on existing literature was conducted to evaluate and compare the quantitative health risks associated with different age groups using various drinking water supply systems. Results showed that both community-supply and self-supply modes exhibit similar levels of risk.

In this study, data of SARS-CoV-2 concentrations in wastewater were gathered from literatures, and a quantitative microbial risk assessment with Monte Carlo simulation was used to estimate the daily probability of infection risk through exposure to viable infectious viral airborne particles of the workers during four seasons and under six environmental conditions. Inhalation of bioaerosols and direct ingestion of wastewater droplets were selected as exposure pathways.

Methods: A total of 238 patients were enrolled, of which 170 patients were moderately severe and severe acute pancreatitis (MSAP+SAP). The concentrations of procalcitonin, CRP and D dimer within 48 h after admission were obtained.
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is characterized by insulin resistance and a progressive loss in mass and function of pancreatic β-cells. In T2DM, lipotoxicity leads to β-cells dysfunction and decreases its number. Autophagy serves a crucial role in maintaining the normal islet architecture and the function of β-cells.

To understand the trends and characteristics of air pollution in Baoding in recent years, an analysis of air quality and air pollutant concentrations in Baoding from 2013 to 2018 was carried out. The results showed that: 1 from 2013 to 2018, the comprehensive index of Baoding dropped from 11.6 to 6.

To the best of our knowledge, whether conscious sedation with intranasal dexmedetomidine and local anesthesia is an effective anesthetic technique has not been studied. Thus, the present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of conscious sedation with intranasal dexmedetomidine combined with local anesthesia in breast lumpectomy, and to identify its optimal dose.

Aims And Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the targeted inhibitory effects of luteolin-loaded Her-2-poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles (NPs) on gastric cancer cells and to delineate the mechanism underlying the inhibition of tumors by luteolin.
Materials And Methods: Luteolin-loaded Her-2-PLGA NPs (Her-2-NPs) were prepared, physically and chemically characterized, and their effects on gastric cancer cells were investigated.

Objective: To detect the expression level of ICOS on Th9 cells in mice infected with , and investigate the relation between ICOS signaling and Th9 cell polarization.
Methods: Twenty-five mice with infection were used as models. IL-9cells in CD4 T cells and ICOS cells in Th9 cells of the mice were detected by flow cytometry 0, 4, 7, 9 weeks and 12 weeks after the infection.
Objective: To understand the hospital's status and trends of intestinal parasitic infections and to provide a reference for prevention.
Methods: Stool samples were treated by acid-ether centrifugation; iodine staining and direct-smearing were performed; intestinal parasites were examined under a microscope; characteristics of parasitic infections in population were analyzed using the descriptive epidemiological method.
Results: 10 kinds of parasites were detected; the infection rate of clonorchissinensis was the highest, followed by B.
To investigate the influence of marine aquaculture around coal power plant on Hg species change in aquatic ecological environment, the fish farming area in Xiangshan Harbor, Zhejiang province, was studied. The concentrations of different Hg species in sea water collected from marine aquaculture sites (MS) and references sites (RS) were measured. The result showed that the total mercury (THg) concentration in the surface water reached 83.

The carotid body (CB) is a complex sensory organ that functions to sense homeostatic O2 in the blood. Previous studies have shown that CBs express interleukin (IL)-1 receptor type I and that the chemosensitivity of CBs is increased following stimulation with pro-inflammatory cytokines. However, the effects of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β, on the neurogenesis of CB are unclear.

Primary squamous cell carcinoma of the breast (PSCCB) is a rare type of breast carcinoma, the clinical behavior of which has not been accurately characterized. The aim of this study was to evaluate its prevalence, characteristics, prognosis, and effective treatment modalities in patients attending our institution. The records of the Cancer Institute and Hospital of Tianjin Medical University from 1985 to 2013 were searched and 29 patients with PSCCB (0.

Fifty-three Blastocystis hominis isolates were separated from the fecal specimens of carriers in college students from Guangxi and cultivated in vitro, and the genetic DNA was extracted. All the isolates were genotyped by PCR using seven pairs of known sequence-tagged site (STS) primers. The results showed there were five subtypes in the 53 isolates.

Background And Aims: Recent studies have shown that activated pancreatic stellate cells (PSCs) play a major role in pancreatic fibrogenesis. We aimed to study the effect of L-cysteine administration on fibrosis in chronic pancreatitis (CP) induced by trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS) in rats and on the function of cultured PSCs.
Methods: CP was induced by TNBS infusion into rat pancreatic ducts.
Background And Aims: GLI1, as an indispensable transcriptional factor of Hedgehog signaling pathway, plays an important role in the development of pancreatic cancer (PC). DNA methyltransferases (DNMTs) mediate the methylation of quantity of tumor-related genes. Our study aimed to explore the relationship between GLI1 and DNMTs.
