HDAC inhibitor SAHA triggers the production of previously undescribed sesquiterpenes and undergoes biotransformation by the fungus Robillarda sessilis from Verbena officinalis L.

Cultivation of the endophytic fungus Robillarda sessilis XL-308 with SAHA resulted in the discovery of two previously undescribed cyclonerane sesquiterpenes (1 and 2), one previously unreported norcadinane type sesquiterpene (3), and seven suberanilohydroxamic acid (SAHA) derivatives (4-10). The identification of previously undescribed compounds was confirmed through NMR spectroscopic analyses, quantum chemistry calculations, and single-crystal X-ray crystallography. Among them, compounds 1 and 2 were products of the silenced genome in XL-308 that activated by SAHA.

Despite its importance, validated methods other than radioimmunoassay (RIA) to assess serum gastrin concentrations in horses are lacking. This study aims to determine the agreement between ELISA and RIA in quantifying equine serum gastrin concentrations.

CAROTID ARTERY ULTRASOUND FOR ASSESSING FLUID RESPONSIVENESS IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING MECHANICAL VENTILATION WITH LOW TIDAL VOLUME AND PRESERVED SPONTANEOUS BREATHING.

Objective : This study aimed to investigate whether changes in carotid artery corrected flow time (ΔFTc bolus ) and carotid artery peak flow velocity respiratory variation (Δ V peak bolus ) induced by the fluid challenge could reliably predict fluid responsiveness in mechanically ventilated patients with a tidal volume < 8 mL/kg Predicted Body Weight while preserving spontaneous breathing. Methods : Carotid artery corrected flow time, Δ V peak, and hemodynamic data were measured before and after administration of 250 mL crystalloids. Fluid responsiveness was defined as a 10% or more increase in stroke volume index as assessed by noninvasive cardiac output monitoring after the fluid challenge.

The impact of recommended withholding periods (RWPs) for omeprazole on the recurrence of Equine Gastric Ulcer Syndrome (EGUS) is unknown. The study was designed to compare the effect of two RWPs on EGUS recurrence post-omeprazole treatment and to determine if a nutraceutical supplement would reduce EGUS recurrence when administrated during an RWP. The study was a blinded, randomized clinical trial.

Dried ginger is the monarch drug in Linggan Wuwei Jiangxin (LGWWJX) decoction, which is used to treat cold asthma. The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the effects of dried ginger and LGWWJX decoction for treatment of cold asthma rats at the metabolomics level using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). OVA and ice water-induced cold asthma were induced in SD rats.
