In this study, the pathogenic genes of depression were calculated and analyzed by bioinformatics method, and then the key genes of Shaoyao Gancao Decoction in the treatment of depression were deduced and predicted through the correlation study with the target of Shaoyao Gancao Decoction. Through the production of LPS depression model mice, drug treatment, behavioral test and hippocampal tissue sample detection, it was found that Shaoyao Gancao Decoction can regulate the levels of IL-10, TNF- α, BDNF, SMAD3, FGFR1 and FGFR2 to improve depression, which can provide a theoretical basis for exploring the efficacy of Shaoyao Gancao Decoction in the treatment of depression.

Activation of CD8+ T cells necessitates rapid metabolic reprogramming to fulfill the substantial biosynthetic demands of effector functions. However, the posttranscriptional mechanisms underpinning this process remain obscure. The transfer RNA (tRNA) N1-methyladenine (m1A) modification, essential for tRNA stability and protein translation, has an undefined physiological function in CD8+ T cells, particularly in antitumor responses.

Developing near-infrared fluorescent probes for simultaneous tracking of lipid droplets (LDs) and lysosomes is highly desirable for studying cell metabolism. In this work, deep-red/near-infrared dual-emission carbonized polymer dots (DN-CPDs) were prepared for ratiometric monitoring of the intracellular polarity. Detailed structural analysis revealed that the deep-red emission and near-infrared peak of DN-CPDs originate from the molecular state and surface state, respectively.

Monitoring the pH variation in lysosomes is very conducive to studying the autophagy process, and fluorescent ratiometric pH nanoprobes with inherent lysosome targeting ability are highly desirable. Here, a carbonized polymer dots-based pH probe (oAB-CPDs) was developed by self-condensation of o-aminobenzaldehyde and further carbonization at low temperature. The obtained oAB-CPDs display improved performance in pH sensing, including robust photostability, intrinsic lysosome-targeting ability, self-referenced ratiometric response, desirable two-photon-sensitized fluorescence property, and high selectivity.

Lipid droplets (LDs) and their autophagy by lysosomes are closely related to a variety of physiological and pathological conditions. Therefore, identifying and tracking LDs and the dynamic process of autophagy can provide useful information for the diagnostics and treatment of related diseases. However, few organic small molecule-based fluorescent probes can specifically recognize LDs and dynamically track their autophagy process.

Naive T cells undergo radical changes during the transition from dormant to hyperactive states upon activation, which necessitates de novo protein production via transcription and translation. However, the mechanism whereby T cells globally promote translation remains largely unknown. Here, we show that on exit from quiescence, T cells upregulate transfer RNA (tRNA) mA58 'writer' proteins TRMT61A and TRMT6, which confer mA58 RNA modification on a specific subset of early expressed tRNAs.

Xanthohumol (XN, 2', 4', 4-trihydroxy-6'-methoxy-3'-prenylchalcone), a polyphenol chalcone from hops (Humulus lupulus), has received increasing attention due to its multiple pharmacologic activities. As an active component in beers, its presence has been suggested to be linked to the epidemiologic observation of the beneficial effect of regular beer drinking. But regarding cardiovascular and immunologic effects of polyphenols and ethanol, benefits of beer drinking in patients with diabetes were still in doubt.

A novel and highly sensitive electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensing system was designed and developed for individual detection of different organophosphorous pesticides (OPs) in food samples. Bimetallic Pt-Au nanoparticles were electrodeposited on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs)-modified glass carbon electrode (GCE) to increase the surface area of electrode and ECL signals of luminol. Biocomposites of enzymes from acetylcholinesterase and choline oxidase (AChE and ChOx) were immobilized onto the electrode surface to produce massive hydrogen peroxides (H2O2), thus amplifying ECL signals.

A new surface molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) based on nano-TiO2 was developed using propazine (Pro) as a template molecule, ethyleneglycol dimethacrylate (EGDMA) as a crosslinker, methacrylic acid (MAA) as a functional monomer, and 2,2'-azobis (isobutyronitrile) (AIBN) as an initiator. Structures of the newly synthesized surface MIPs were characterized by Fourier transmission infrared spectrometry (FT-IR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The MIP had a good adsorption capacity and high recognition selectivity to propazine.

Sulfonylurea herbicides are widely used at lower dosage for controlling broad-leaf weeds and some grasses in cereals and economic crops. It is important to develop a highly efficient and selective pretreatment method for analyzing sulfonylurea herbicide residues in environments and samples from agricultural products based on magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs). The MIPs were prepared by a surface molecular imprinting technique especially using the vinyl-modified Fe3O4@SiO2 nanoparticle as the supporting matrix, bensulfuron-methyl (BSM) as the template molecule, methacrylic acid (MAA) as a functional monomer, trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate (TRIM) as a cross-linker, and azodiisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as an initiator.

This study investigated the herbicide isoproturon (IPU) residues in soil, where wheat was cultivated and sprayed with salicylic acid (SA). Provision of SA led to a lower level of IPU residues in rhizosphere soil compared to IPU treatment alone. Root exudation of tartaric acid, malic acid, and oxalic acids was enhanced in rhizosphere soil with SA-treated wheat.
