The growth of fused silica surface damage poses a high risk in operating high-power laser devices, with complex physical mechanisms related not only to the wavelength, pulse width, fluence of incident pulse lasers, but also to initial damage size and material properties. With low-temporal coherence light (LTCL) increasingly applied in high-power laser-driven inertial confinement fusion (ICF), LTCL-induced damage growth has become a bottleneck limiting output power improvements. Proprotein convertase subtilisin kexin type 9 (PCSK9) inhibitors are widely recognised as being able to induce a potent reduction in low‑density lipoprotein‑cholesterol. An increasing number of studies have suggested that PCSK9 also influences the haemostatic system by altering platelet function and the coagulation cascade. We report the first (to the best of our knowledge) high-power, low-coherence Nd:glass laser delivering kilojoule pulses with a coherent time of 249 fs and a bandwidth of 13 nm, achieving the 63%-efficiency second-harmonic conversion of the large-aperture low-coherence pulse and good beam smoothing effect. It provides a new type of laser driver for laser plasma interaction and high energy density physics research.

This paper studies a heterogeneous Fenton catalyst NiFe(CO), which showed better catalytic activity than Ni(CO) and better re-usability than Fe(CO). The methyl orange removal efficiency was 98% in heterogeneous Fenton system using NiFe(CO). Magnetic Fe(0)/Fe3O4/graphene has been successfully synthesized by a one-step reduction method and investigated in rapid degradation of dyes in this work. The material was characterized by N2 sorption-desorption, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), vibrating-sample magnetometer (VSM) measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results indicated that Fe(0)/Fe3O4/graphene had a layered structure with Fe crystals highly dispersed in the interlayers of graphene, which could enhance the mass transfer process between Fe(0)/Fe3O4/graphene and pollutants.

MnO2/CeO2 catalyst was prepared and characterized by means of Brunauer-Emmet-Teller (BET) method, X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Ring microcavities were formed by wrapping ZnS microbelts, which act as the waveguide and gain region of the microcavities on the surface of optical fibers. The ring microcavities with the formation of whispering gallery modes have lasing threshold lower (Q-factor higher) than that of the ZnS microbelts. The excitation of TM modes could also be suppressed by the ring geometries of ZnS microbelts.
