- The study aimed to investigate the rate of seroma formation in laparoscopic para-umbilical hernia repair by comparing two methods: with primary closure of the defect and without it.
- Conducted at Bahawal Victoria Hospital in Pakistan, the study involved 100 patients aged 25-65, who were randomly assigned to two groups for the surgery.
- Results showed that seroma formation was significantly lower in the primary closure group (2%) compared to the non-closure group (24%), suggesting that primary closure reduces the risk of this complication.
