Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a prevalent endocrinopathy characterized by insulin resistance, hyperinsulinemia, and increased ovarian androgen production. While obesity has been linked to the pathogenesis of PCOS, the condition is also observed in individuals with normal BMI.
