Purpose: To compare the outcomes of phacoemulsification combined with either Kahook Dual Blade (KDB) goniotomy (phaco-KDB) or trabecular microbypass stent (iStent and iStent inject) implantation (phaco-Stent).
Our study aimed to compare the anatomical features of the eyeball, lens, and retina between the two raptor birds of different visual active clock hours: the diurnal common kestrel (Falco tinnunculus rupicilaeformis) and the nocturnal little owl (Athene noctua glaux) using gross, morphometric analysis, histological, and scanning and transmission electron microscopy techniques. The semi-spherical eyeball of the kestrel had less convexity on the anterior surface than on the posterior surface; meanwhile, it was relatively larger in the owl. There is a relationship between the corneal diameter (CD) and the eye axial length (AL).

Herein we describe 2 cases of persistent mydriasis after gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy for open angle glaucoma. Both surgeries were uneventful, but the patients experienced postoperative hyphema and intraocular pressure elevation. They then developed persistent fixed and dilated pupils resistant to pilocarpine that led to intolerable photosensitivity and glare.

Design: Retrospective study at a single tertiary care center of patients who underwent AGV implantation for NVG treatment with ≥6-month follow-up.
Methods: Main outcome measures included intraocular pressure (IOP), number of glaucoma medications (GM), and failure at month 6 or at the most recent visit.
Purpose: To investigate the association between stereoacuity and the presence of central visual field defects (CVFDs) due to glaucoma.
Design: A prospective, cross-sectional cohort study.
Participants: Participants with early-to-moderate glaucoma with a visual acuity better than 20/40, less than a 2-line difference in visual acuity between eyes, and 2 reliable Humphrey visual fields (VFs) (24-2 SITA standard) with mean deviation (MD) in the worse eye better than - 12 dB.
Purpose: To determine baseline patient characteristics that predict the need for glaucoma surgery or blindness in eyes with neovascular glaucoma (NVG) despite intravitreal antivascular endothelial growth factor therapy.
Methods: This is a retrospective cohort study of patients with NVG who had not previously received glaucoma surgery and were treated with intravitreal antivascular endothelial growth factor injections at the time of diagnosis, from September 8, 2011, to May 8, 2020, at a large, retina subspecialty practice.
Results: Of 301 newly presenting NVG eyes, 31% required glaucoma surgery and 20% progressed to no light perception vision despite treatment.

Methods: We reviewed the electronic medical records for patients who underwent TKP for PK combined with vitreoretinal surgery at Wills Eye Hospital between May 2007 and April 2021.

Methods: A retrospective case series of patients who had progressive post-LASIK ectasia, with at least 2 years of follow-up. They had epithelium-off CXL.
Purpose: To evaluate the outcomes of gonioscopy-assisted transluminal trabeculotomy (GATT) in adult eyes with uncontrolled uveitic glaucoma.
Methods: We reviewed 16 eyes from 13 patients. Surgical success was defined as intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction >20% from baseline or IOP between 5 and 21 mmHg by the 3-month visit while on a stable number or fewer IOP-lowering agents and no need for additional glaucoma surgery.
Purpose: To determine the outcomes of Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) and transscleral diode cyclophotocoagulation (CPC) in neovascular glaucoma (NVG).
Methods: This was a single-center retrospective comparative case series involving chart review of consecutive patients who underwent AGV or CPC for treatment of NVG and had ≥6 months of follow-up. Surgical failure at 6 months, defined as an IOP of >21 or <6 mm Hg with hypotony maculopathy after 1 month, progression to no light perception (NLP) vision, glaucoma reoperation, or removal of AGV were the main outcome measures.
Glaucoma, a progressive optic neuropathy characterized by retinal ganglion cell degeneration and visual field loss, is the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide. Intraocular pressure (IOP) is presently the only modifiable risk factor demonstrated to slow or halt disease progression; however, glaucomatous damage persists in almost 50% of patients despite significant IOP reduction. Many studies have investigated the non-IOP-related risk factors that contribute to glaucoma progression as well as interventions that can prevent or delay glaucomatous neurodegeneration and preserve vision throughout life, independently of IOP.
