[Problems in the measurement of human body temperature].

The problems arising in the measurement of human body temperature are discussed. The results of the experimental research are described. The effect of the initial sensor temperature on the results of measurement is explained.

[Organ-salvaging operations in tumors of renal parenchyma].

An original method of kidney resection with the use of ultrasonic surgical destructor-aspirator is proposed. The method was applied in the treatment of 19 patients (20 renal resections and 1 tumor enucleation). No complications occurred.

[The endocrine function of the hypophyseal-gonadal system in varicocele].

The paper provides the evidence on interaction of the endocrine system hypophysis-gonads with varicocele. Gonadotropic hormones and sexual steroids were measured in the blood of varicocele males (47 cases) and of fertile healthy males (17 cases), testosterone in the tissue of the sexual glands and blood of white noninbred rats (40 test against 20 control animals). It was found that in 18% of varicocele patients high levels of FSH were associated with oligo-, pathospermia and changes in spermatogenic epithelium.

[The prognostic significance of determining androgen receptors in prostatic cancer].

The role of androgen receptors (ARs) registration in cytosol tumor fraction has been investigated in 86 new cases of prostatic cancer. The frequency of occurrence and mean ARs levels in the tumor were found dependent on the disease stage and tumor differentiation. Well-differentiated against moderately and poorly differentiated prostatic cancers contain ARs in 73% and 39% of cases, respectively, in concentrations 10-100 fmol/mg protein and 100 fmol/mg protein, respectively.

[The clinico-statistical characteristics of the testicular generative function in male subfertility following mumps].

The paper emphasized the role of mumps complicated by orchitis in the etiology of male subfertility with allowances for a possible development of testicular degeneration in the course of epidemic parotiditis alone, i.e. without clinically evident orchitis.

[The Delta-102 2-channel electrostimulator for pain relief].

Delta-102 two-channel electrostimulator for pain relief was created on the basis of tests and clinical application of analgetic percutaneous electrostimulation (APES). It extended the indications to APES application in surgery and increased the efficiency of treatment.

[Development of a specialized electrostimulator for use in obstetrics and gynecology].

A specialized electrouterostimulator, Uteroton-1, was created on the basis of research and clinical studies of electrostimulation methods for treatment of gynaecological and postpartum disorders. It is intended for application in obstetrics and gynaecology for prophylaxis and treatment of dysfunctional and postpartum hemorrhages. The efficiency of application of the stimulator was confirmed by results of clinical tests.
