Chitosan-based electrospun nanofibrous mats, hydrogels and cast films: novel anti-bacterial wound dressing matrices.

The development of highly efficient anti-bacterial wound dressings was carried out. For this purpose nanofibrous mats, hydrogels and films were synthesized from chitosan, poly(vinyl alcohol) and hydroxyapatite. The physical/chemical interactions of the synthesized materials were evaluated by FTIR.
