Ecstasy normally contains 3,4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) that increases the levels of serotonin, dopamine, and epinephrine in the central nervous system with consequent adverse effects on the cardiovascular system. Herein, we presented a case of ecstasy abuse which resulted in two episodes myocardial infarction during a three month period; the second episode led to death due to thrombus formation.

This study represents the first results from the selection and evaluation of five polymorphic microsatellite markers for the genetic assessment of five native chicken populations located in the northwestern (West Azerbaijan), northern (Mazandaran), central (Isfahan, Yazd), and southern (Fars) provinces of Iran. The number of alleles ranged from three to six per microsatellite locus.

Background And Aims: In open-heart surgery, cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) can cause a rise in the level of stress hormones such as cortisol. Reducing this hormonal response is beneficial in the recovery period. Anesthetic agents and methods used in such operations have different effects on this response.
