Reporting and Methodological Quality of Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses Evaluating Effects of Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy on Tendinopathies: A Scoping Review.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the methodological and reporting quality of the published systematic reviews with or without meta-analyses (SRs/MAs) that looked at the effects of extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) on tendinopathies and to summarize its effectiveness.

Methods: A search of PubMed, Scopus, PEDro, Web of Science, Cochrane, Embase, and REHABDATA was conducted. SRs/MAs that assessed the effectiveness of ESWT for treating tendinopathy were included.

Sperm motility is a primary criterion for selecting viable and functional sperm in assisted reproduction, where the most motile sperm are used to increase the likelihood of successful conception. Traditional chemical agents to enhance motility pose embryo-toxicity risks, necessitating safer alternatives. This study investigates the use of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound exposure as a non-invasive treatment within an acoustofluidic device to maintain sperm motility.

Association of fear of falling with performance-based physical function and low back pain in older adults: a cross-sectional study in Iran.

Objectives: This study investigated the association of fear of falling with performance-based physical function and low back pain (LBP) among older adults.

Design: Cross-sectional study.

Setting: Participants were selected via convenient sampling from Iran University orthopaedic and/or physiotherapy outpatient clinics, between March 2022 and April 2023.

Sexual health literacy among rural women in Southern Iran.

Sexual health literacy (SHL) is a set of skills related to sexual behaviors that can affect sexual behavior and empower individuals to maintain as well as improve their sexual health. This study aimed to investigate the rural women's sexual health literacy and its related factors in Iran. This cross-sectional study was conducted on 200 married women of reproductive ages referring to health center in Benaroyeh region along with six sub-villages in the South of Fars, Iran.

The automatic activity of abdominal muscles during stable and unstable standing postural tasks in older adults with and without low back pain- A cross-sectional study.

Background: The postural control and abdominal muscles' automatic activity were found to be impaired in subjects with low back pain (LBP) during static activities. However, the studies are predominantly conducted on younger adults and a limited number of studies have evaluated abdominal muscles' automatic activity during dynamic standing activities in subjects with LBP. The present study investigated the automatic activity of abdominal muscles during stable and unstable standing postural tasks in older adults with and without LBP.

Correlates of sexual function in women with acute lumbar disc herniation in Iran: a cross-sectional study.

Evidence suggests that lumbar disc herniation (LDH) influences sexual function to a great deal. However, most existing studies have been conducted on men. Thus, the current study aimed to assess sexual function and its correlates in women with acute LDH.

The Effect of Modified Buerger-Allen Exercises on Lower Extremities Edema in Late Pregnancy: Randomized Clinical Trial.

Background: Lower limbs edema is one of the common problems in late pregnancy. This study aimed to determine the effect of modified Berger-Allen exercises on lower limb swelling in late pregnancy.

Materials And Methods: This randomized clinical trial was conducted on 105 pregnant women suffering from lower limbs edema.

The association between disability and physical performance, pain intensity, and pain-related anxiety in patients after lumbar decompression surgery: a cross-sectional study.

Background: Most patients with lumbar spinal stenosis improve significantly within 6 months of lumbar decompression surgery, however, unfavorable long-term disability may persist in some patients. It was unclear which potential influencing factors were more likely to be associated with disability. This study aimed to assess the association between disability and physical performance, pain, and pain-related anxiety in patients after lumbar decompression surgery.

Purpose: To synthesize the effect of exercise training on functional capacity, muscle strength, exercise capacity, dialysis efficacy, and quality of life (QOL) in children and adolescents with CKD.

Methods: PubMed/Medline, Scopus, PEDro, Web of Science, CINAHL, Cochrane, and Embase were searched from inception to September 30, 2023. Randomized control trials (RCTs) and clinical trials that assessed the effect of exercise training programs on functional capacity, muscle strength, exercise capacity, dialysis efficacy, and QOL in children and adolescents with CKD were included.

Humoral immunogenicity assessment after receiving three types of SARS-CoV-2 vaccine.

Several vaccines have been developed against SARS-CoV-2 and subsequently approved by national/international regulators. Detecting specific antibodies after vaccination enables us to evaluate the vaccine's effectiveness. We conducted a prospective longitudinal study among members of Tarbiat Modares University of Tehran, Iran, from 4 September 2021 until 29 December 2021.

Genital warts and women's sexual challenges: is sexual compatibility possible? A qualitative study.

Background: Genital warts, besides their importance as symptoms of sexually transmitted infections, can also threaten the sexual health of couples. The purpose of this study was to explore the sexual compatibility in women with active genital warts.

Methods: A qualitative study with a conventional content analysis approach in Tehran, Iran, from January 2019 to February 2020 was conducted on a purposeful sample of data saturation achieved after interviewing 14 women with genital warts, 2 couples and 3 dermatologists, 1 sexologist and 1 infectious disease specialist.

Dynamic postural control in women athletes with and without nonspecific low back pain with high and low pain-related anxiety- A case-control study.

Background: Low back pain is common among athletes and it has been shown that postural control is altered in the general population with nonspecific low back pain (NSLBP). Psychological factors may also predispose individuals to risk of altered postural control. Dynamic postural control is essential to the performance of athletes.

Background: To facilitate evidence-based practice (EBP) in physiotherapy in Iran and guide future improvements, it is crucial to identify what barriers and facilitators exist in the current system from the physiotherapist's perspective. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the barriers and facilitators of EBP in physiotherapy in Iran.

Methods: This qualitative study was conducted using a phenomenological approach from January to July 2023 in Iran.

Accordingly, it seems that on infertile couples undergoing assisted reproduction technology (ART), treatment outcomes may be affected by the vitamin D. This overview aims to show the effect of vitamin D on infertility treatments outcomes in recent studies by concluding systematic reviews and meta-analyses to achieve a comprehensive result.

Supervised versus unsupervised pelvic floor muscle training in the treatment of women with urinary incontinence - a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Introduction And Hypothesis: This study synthesized the effects of supervised and unsupervised pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) programs on outcomes relevant to women's urinary incontinence (UI).

Methods: Five databases were searched from inception to December 2021, and the search was updated until June 28, 2022. Randomized and non-randomized control trials (RCTs and NRCTs) comparing supervised and unsupervised PFMT in women with UI and reported urinary symptoms, quality of life (QoL), pelvic floor muscles (PFM) function/ strength, the severity of UI, and patient satisfaction outcomes were included.

The Deficits of the Methodological and Reporting Quality of Randomized Controlled Trials in the Field of Prosthetics and Orthotics in Iran: A Systematic Review.

Introduction: Due to the development of the academic field of prosthetics and orthotics (P&O) in recent years, scientific studies in this domain have increased. However, relevant published studies, especially randomized controlled trials (RCTs), are not always of acceptable quality. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the methodological and reporting quality of RCTs in the field of P&O in Iran to recognize existing shortcomings.
