Competency of Neural Networks for the Numerical Treatment of Nonlinear Host-Vector-Predator Model.

The aim of this work is to introduce a stochastic solver based on the Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation neural networks (LMBNNs) for the nonlinear host-vector-predator model. The nonlinear host-vector-predator model is dependent upon five classes, susceptible/infected populations of host plant, susceptible/infected vectors population, and population of predator. The numerical performances through the LMBNN solver are observed for three different types of the nonlinear host-vector-predator model using the authentication, testing, sample data, and training.

Vitrectomy versus Combined Vitrectomy and Scleral Buckle for Repair of Primary Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment with Vitreous Hemorrhage.

Purpose: To compare pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with combined PPV and scleral buckle (PPV/SB) for repair of primary rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) with associated vitreous hemorrhage (VH).

Design: Retrospective, observational study.

Participants: Patients with RRD and associated VH who underwent PPV or PPV/SB from January 1, 2010, through August 31, 2020, were analyzed.

Inhibitors of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) are used in mono- or combination therapies for several malignancies. They are also used as maintenance therapy for some cancers after initial treatment. While the focus of this therapeutic approach is on the effect of PARP inhibition on the bulk tumour cells, in this review, we discuss their effect on the cancer stem cells.

Emerging Treatments of Cardiorenal Syndrome: An Update on Pathophysiology and Management.

Cardiorenal syndrome refers to combined cardiac and renal dysfunction that adversely impacts both organs and is also associated with severe clinical outcomes. The pathophysiology is believed to be multifactorial and complex. Increased central venous pressure and intra-abdominal pressure, overactivation of the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System (RAAS), systemic illnesses like sepsis, amyloidosis, diabetes are important factors in developing the cardiorenal syndrome.

Exploration of ethnomedicinal plants and their practices in human and livestock healthcare in Haripur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.

Background: The utilization of plants and plant resources for various ethnobotanical purposes is a common practice in local towns and villages of developing countries, especially in regard to human and veterinary healthcare. For this reason, it is important to unveil and document ethnomedicinal plants and their traditional/folk usage for human and livestock healthcare from unexplored areas. Here we advance our findings on ethnomedicinal plants from Haripur District, Pakistan, not only for conservation purposes, but also for further pharmacological screenings and applied research.

We describe the outcomes of oral mucous membrane grafting as a surgical technique for unilateral lid margin keratinization following radiotherapy. A 47-year- old woman presented with an 8-month history of a white spot in her right eye. She had a history of adenoid cystic carcinoma of the right spheno-ethmoid sinus, for which she underwent radiotherapy.

Macular Findings of Patients on Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium.

Introduction: In 2018, a unique maculopathy associated with chronic pentosan polysulfate sodium (PPS) use for the treatment of interstitial cystitis (IC) was described, where the authors detailed macular retinal pigment epithelial abnormalities in six patients. In this paper, a retrospective study of a larger patient pool at one large tertiary retina practice was undertaken to evaluate patients taking PPS and their macular findings.

Materials And Methods: A retrospective chart review was performed on all patients presenting to a single large retina practice between 2011 and 2019.

Background: The pneumococcal conjugate vaccine has had a substantial impact on invasive pneumococcal disease. Previously, we compared immunity following vaccination with the 10-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV10) administered at 2 slightly different schedules: at 6 and 10 weeks of age, and at 6 and 14 weeks of age, both followed by a 9-month booster. In this study, we followed up those participants to evaluate the medium-term persistence of serotype-specific pneumococcal immunity at 2-3 years of age.

The 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19), caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus has affected the social determinants of health, worsening health inequities and deteriorating healthcare capacities around the globe. The objective of this study is to investigate the COVID-19 prevention behaviors within the framework of the Health Belief Model in the city of Depalpur in the Okara District of Pakistan in May 2020. Using an observational, cross-sectional, and quantitative study design, a face-to-face field survey was conducted during the epidemic of COVID-19 in district Okara, Pakistan.

Patients with hematological malignancies are at risk for poor outcomes when diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). It remains unclear whether cytopenias and specific leukemia subtypes play a role in the clinical course of COVID-19 infection. Here, we report outcomes and their clinical/laboratory predictors for 65 patients with acute and chronic leukemias diagnosed with COVID-19 between 8 March 2020 and 19 May 2020 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Phase II Trial of Pembrolizumab Plus Gemcitabine, Vinorelbine, and Liposomal Doxorubicin as Second-Line Therapy for Relapsed or Refractory Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma.

Purpose: We conducted a phase II study evaluating pembrolizumab plus gemcitabine, vinorelbine, and liposomal doxorubicin (pembro-GVD) as second-line therapy for relapsed or refractory (rel/ref) classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) (ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT03618550).

Methods: Transplant eligible patients with rel/ref cHL following first-line therapy were treated with two to four cycles of pembrolizumab (200 mg intravenous [IV], day 1), gemcitabine (1,000 mg/m IV, days 1 and 8), vinorelbine (20 mg/m IV, days 1 and 8), and liposomal doxorubicin (15 mg/m, days 1 and 8), given on 21-day cycles.

Aims: The aim of the study was to assess the prevalence of pathogenic dermatophytes, clinical types of dermatophyte fungal infection, and in vitro antifungal drug susceptibility testing against dermatophytes.

Methods: Three hundred and ninety five patients with dermatophytosis were enrolled from five cities (Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata and Hyderabad) across India.
