Objective: This study assessed the effect of the anodization of titanium abutments on the color parameters and color difference of lithium disilicate (LDS) all-ceramic crowns.
Materials And Methods: In this study, 19 straight abutments were divided into two groups: anodized (n = 9) and non-anodized control (n = 9), with one hybrid zirconia abutment as a reference. Anodization was achieved by applying 63 V energy using seven 9 V flat batteries in series, with an electrolyte solution comprising 1 g trisodium phosphate in 250 mL distilled water for 5 s, resulting in a gold-yellow color.
Statement Of Problem: Titanium abutments are considered the criterion standard for dental implants, yet the gray color poses esthetic concerns. Anodization has been proposed to enhance esthetics, but its effects on surface roughness and bacterial adhesion are unclear.
Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to assess the effect of anodization on surface roughness and bacterial adhesion to titanium abutments.
Aims: The present study aimed to compare the fracture resistance and marginal adaptation of endocrowns fabricated using lithium disilicate (LDS) and zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate 9ZLS) ceramics by the computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology.
Materials And Methods: In this in vitro experimental study, 24 extracted mandibular first molars received standard endocrown preparation and were randomly assigned to two groups (n = 12) for the fabrication of endocrowns with ZLS (Suprinity) and LDS (IPS e.max CAD) ceramics.
Aims: This study aimed to assess the marginal and internal adaptation of provisional crowns fabricated from polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) blocks by the computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) system, autopolymerizing PMMA, and acrylic base composite resin.
Materials And Methods: In this experimental study, a brass die was obtained, and provisional crowns were fabricated in three groups using Teliocad PMMA blocks by the CAD/CAM system, Tempron GC auto-polymerizing PMMA, and Bisico acrylic base composite resin ( = 7 in each group). The provisional crowns were coded and randomly placed on the die.
