Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to analyze the relationship between Doppler measurements, specifically the cerebroplacental ratio (CPR), and postnatal outcomes in patients with isolated oligohydramnios (IO).
  • A cohort study involving 100 pregnant women was conducted, where ultrasound was used to measure blood flow in the middle cerebral and umbilical arteries, and infants’ APGAR scores were recorded after birth.
  • Results indicated that CPR is a useful screening tool, showing high sensitivity (92%) and specificity (77.27%), and effectively predicting infants' postnatal outcomes based on changes in APGAR scores.

Article Synopsis
  • Gliomas are the most common brain tumors, classified from grade I to IV, and MRI helps in diagnosing and predicting treatment responses, while histopathology is the standard for accurate grading.
  • A study involving 80 untreated glioma patients used magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) to calculate tissue metabolites and compare them with histological findings, revealing distinct metabolite ratios between low-grade and high-grade tumors.
  • Results showed MRS can effectively predict glioma grades, achieving 78.75% diagnostic accuracy through metabolite ratios of choline to creatine (Cho/Cr) and N-acetyl aspartate to creatine (NAA/Cr), making it a valuable non-invasive diagnostic tool alongside histopathology.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic accuracy of the placental thickness measured by ultrasound sonography test (USG) in detecting intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) babies in the third trimester of pregnancy, keeping IUGR (by parameters using Hadlock) as the gold standard. Methods and materials This cross-sectional study was conducted at the radiology department of KRL Hospital from August 5, 2020, to October 25, 2021. Informed written consent was also obtained from each patient, and the hospital's ethical committee approved the study.
