Background: This study compares Selective Amygdalohippocampectomy (SAHE) and Anterior Temporal Lobectomy (ATL) for temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), focusing on seizure control and visual field deficits (VFD). While previous research suggests potential benefits of SAHE, this meta-analysis aims to clarify the comparative effectiveness of bothprocedures.
Methods: This study adhered to PRISMA guidelines, comparing seizure outcomes and VFDs between SAHE and ATL for temporal lobe epilepsy.
Purpose: Patients with heart failure and concomitant renal impairment are often prescribed loop diuretics, such as furosemide, as the primary treatment. The present meta-analysis is focused on analyzing the safety and efficacy of the implementation of tolvaptan as a novel approach in patients with renal impairment and heart failure.
Methods: Two reviewers conducted a screening of articles using online databases, including PubMed, Google Scholar, and Embase.
Glioblastoma (GB), the most common malignant brain tumour, has a poor prognosis despite advances in treatment. Standard management involves surgery followed by chemoradiotherapy. MRI-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) is a minimally invasive technique that may offer an option for select patients with specific clinical profiles.

This study aimed to evaluate the lytic potential of the purified bacteriophage PKp-V1 against extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) harboring hypervirulent (hvKp)-K1 recovered from veterinary specimens.
Materials And Methods: A total of 50 samples were collected from various veterinary specimens to isolate , followed by antimicrobial susceptibility testing and molecular detection of various virulence and ESBL genes.
This study investigates the impact of rookie independent directors (RIDs) on agency costs. Utilizing a sample of Chinese listed firms, we employ panel ordinary least square estimations. Our findings reveal that increased RIDs is positively associated with agency costs, suggesting that rookie independent directors may exacerbate agency conflicts within Chinese firms.

The consequences of AMR are severe, leading to more severe infections, increased health protection costs, prolonged hospital stays, unresponsive treatments, and elevated fatality rates. The impact of AMR is direct and far-reaching, particularly affecting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), underscoring the urgency for concerted global actions to achieve these objectives.

Materials And Methods: ReSiDe is inspired by plug-and-play (PnP) methods, but unlike traditional PnP approaches that utilize pre-trained denoisers, ReSiDe iteratively trains the denoiser on the image or images that are being reconstructed.
Background And Objective: Pancreatic cancer (PC) is a significant cause of cancer-related mortality, with limited curative options and high rates of cachexia, a debilitating syndrome associated with poor prognosis. While previous research has linked sarcopenia to poor outcomes in PC, the correlation between cachexia and treatment outcomes remains underexplored. This meta-analysis aims to investigate the association between cachexia and overall survival and time to treatment failure in advanced PC patients undergoing first-line chemotherapy.

However, its independent association with the risk of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) is controversial particularly in different populations. Hence, this study was aimed to assess an independent association of SUA with CVD risk in a Punjabi Pakistani cohort.

The choice between mitral valve repair (MVP) and mitral valve replacement (MVR) is crucial in managing IE. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to compare the effectiveness of MVP and MVR in treating IE, focusing on outcomes such as postoperative bleeding, mortality, recurrent endocarditis, and stroke.

Despite multidisciplinary care, including surgery and chemoradiotherapy, the prognosis remains grim, emphasizing the need for innovative treatment strategies. The blood-brain barrier complicates drug access, and the diverse histopathology hinders targeted therapies.

NAFLD is traditionally related to obesity and metabolic disorders. NAFLD can also affect non-obese individuals, termed "lean NAFLD" (LN), who exhibit a paradoxical combination of physical leanness and metabolic obesity.

Laparoscopic appendectomy has become the standard treatment, with various methods for appendiceal stump closure, including polymeric clips and endoloops. This study aims to compare the efficacy and safety of polymeric clips compared with endoloops in laparoscopic appendectomy.

During the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, SMC drug distribution was rapidly adapted to reduce contact and mitigate the risk of transmission between communities and community distributors, with caregivers administering doses. To address the challenges and find local solutions to improve administration and adherence, the role model approach was designed, implemented and evaluated in selected communities of Burkina Faso, Chad and Togo.

However, since these agents are typically powered by portable batteries, they require extremely low power/energy consumption to operate in a long lifespan. To solve this challenge, neuromorphic computing has emerged as a promising solution, where bio-inspired Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) use spikes from event-based cameras or data conversion pre-processing to perform sparse computations efficiently.
