Plateau and Patella: A Framework for Ipsilateral Injury Fixation.

Ipsilateral patella and tibial plateau fractures represent an extremely rare injury pattern. They are seldom discussed in literature, with no frameworks for management being reported that we were able to find. We report our experience and management of such an injury, suffered by a 57-year-old female patient with good premorbid functional status, by direct trauma to the right knee.

An Unusual Presentation of Hip Pain in a Patient with Known Hyper-IgE Syndrome and Multiple Calcified Pelvic Apophyses.

Introduction: Hyper-IgE syndrome (HIES) is a relatively rare condition which, from childhood, renders patients susceptible to infection. Typically patients with HIES can develop various orthopaedic manifestations of this disease, namely scoliosis, pathological fractures, osteoporosis, and potentially septic arthritis.

Case Report: We present the case of WJ, a 44-year old patient with known HIES(since the age of 11) and a 7-week history of left hip pain.

Metallosis following a clip breakage in a total knee arthroplasty implant: A case report.

Background: Metallosis describes the build-up of metal debris in the soft tissues after a period of metal on metal articulation. This debris can be asymptomatic or lead to catastrophic implant failure, which can present acutely, as in this case, or over a period of time. This report highlights how a metal clip used to hold the polyethylene liner to the tibial base plate broke 5 years after implantation, dislodged from its original position and went on to cause post-operative knee metallosis.

A literature review of the complications following anterior and posterior ankle arthroscopy.

Introduction: There is a wealth of studies reporting the complications of anterior and posterior ankle arthroscopy. The aim of this study is to summarise and review the complication rate(s) associated with both anterior and posterior ankle arthroscopy, as described in the literature.

Material And Methods: The authors carried out a comprehensive review of the literature up until March 2018.

Listeria septicaemia following insertion of a dynamic hip screw: A case report and literature review.

Introduction: Listeria monocytogenes is a food borne bacterial pathogen which is rarely encountered in the United Kingdom. This rare and potentially life threatening infection has a high mortality rate and therefore requires early antimicrobial intervention.
