This present study investigated how heat treatment affects the mechanical properties of 3D-printed black carbon fiber HTPLA by manipulating two parameters: heating temperature and holding time. The mechanical properties of 3D-printed black carbon fiber HTPLA components are crucial for assessing their structural integrity and performance. The shrinkage and dimensional accuracy of the 3D-printed parts were also explored using a vernier caliper.

Summary: Paraneoplastic syndromes (PS) are uncommon and are known to mimic other clinical entities, often carrying significant morbidity and mortality. The commonest cause of extra-ocular muscle enlargement (EOME) is thyroid eye disease (TED). Rarely, PS can cause EOME and masquerade as TED.

Predictors of diabetes-related distress before and after FreeStyle Libre-1 use: Lessons from the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists nationwide study.

Aim: To identify the baseline demographic and clinical characteristics associated with diabetes-related distress (DRD) and factors associated with improvement in DRD after initiating use of the FreeStyle Libre (FSL) in people living with type 1 diabetes (T1D).

Methods: The study was performed using baseline and follow-up data from the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists nationwide audit of people with diabetes who initiated use of the FSL in the United Kingdom. DRD was assessed using the two-item diabetes-related distress scale (DDS; defined as the average of the two-item score ≥3).

Clinical Presentation and Outcomes of Phaeochromocytomas/Paragangliomas in Neurofibromatosis Type 1.

Patients with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) are at risk of developing phaeochromocytomas/paragangliomas (PHAEO/PG). Unlike in other familial PHAEO/PG syndromes, there are no published guidelines regarding screening in asymptomatic or normotensive patients with NF1. This strategy may be associated with preventable morbidities in those patients who ultimately present with symptomatic PHAEO/PG.
