The functional and structural integrity of the endothelium is essential for vascular homeostasis. Loss of barrier function in quiescent and migratory capacity in proliferative endothelium causes exuberant vascular permeability, a cardinal feature of many inflammatory diseases including acute lung injury (ALI). However, the signals governing these fundamental endothelial cell (EC) functions are poorly understood.

Methods: A cohort of 380 patients diagnosed with OC and OPC, comprising 220 males and 160 females, was analyzed. Participants were categorized based on their tobacco-chewing habits, with corresponding control groups established.
Background & Objective: Telomeres consist of repetitive G-rich nucleotides located at the end of each chromosome, acting as protein binding sites. The aim of this study was to examine the differences in telomere length in blood, saliva, and tissue samples at various stages of oral precancerous and cancerous lesions.
Methods: Samples of blood, tissue, and saliva were collected from patients with oral precancerous and cancerous lesions.
Background And Aim: As oral submucous fibrosis (OSMF) is a chronic progressive disorder, the treatment is based on the severity of the disease. Surgical treatment is the only choice for grade III and grade IV OSMF cases because the patient can neither clean his/her mouth nor properly chew. The resulting soft tissue defect requires resurfacing with various well-vascularized tissues such as extraoral flaps, intraoral flaps, microvascular flaps, and allografts that have been used.

Tyrosine phosphorylation of VE-cadherin is a key determinant of EC barrier disruption. However, the identity and role of tyrosine kinases in this context are incompletely understood.

Sigma1R (Sig1R) is another unique ER receptor chaperone that has been identified to associate with BiP/GRP78 at the MAM and is known to be a pluripotent modulator of cellular homeostasis. However, it is unclear if Sig1R also plays a role in regulating the EC inflammation and permeability associated with ALI.

It is more challenging to treat the posterior quadrants of the maxillary ridges using dental implants due to their anatomical and physiological characteristics. So to overcome the limitations of other techniques, short implants were introduced recently as a new approach to simplify implant placement in compromised alveolar bone and to prevent possible damage to vital structures.

Persons infected with SARS-CoV-2 are frequently asymptomatic, yet they have high respiratory viral loads, and they are major purveyors of viral spread. These factors have led to the current explosion of COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths.

Edentulism, a common problem can occur either as a congenital defect or acquired later due to dental caries, periodontitis, as a consequence of aging, maxillofacial trauma or post-ablation in tumor resections. The rehabilitation of the missing teeth can be done using dental implants. To overcome the deficiency of available bone, processes like sinus augmentation with substituted bone graft and Le Fort I osteotomy with interpositional bone graft have been described in the literature.

We aimed to exhaustively present the normal value ranges of LV strain and twist parameter in healthy Indian adults during COVID-19 pandemic and furthermore to analyse their relationship with age and gender.
Method: Study population consisted of 80 adults of 18-60 years (58 men, 22 women), which was arbitrarily divided into two groups: Group A <30 years and Group B >31 years.
Purpose: The behavior of trigeminocardiac reflex (TCR) is limited to few case reports only in maxillofacial surgery, especially for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis cases. The present study aims to find out the incidence of bradycardia due to TCR during intraoperative forceful mouth opening in TMJ ankylosis patients.
Materials And Methods: A prospective, unicentric observational study was conducted selecting those patients who were planned for osteoarthrectomy with interpositional gap arthroplasty under general anesthesia.
Introduction: Blunt trauma to the orbital rim is a frequent cause of both orbital fractures and damage to the surrounding facial bones and soft tissues. The inception of endoscopy and minimal invasive intervention has revolutionized the surgical treatment of blow out fracture of orbital walls. Thus, the present study was conducted to compare the outcome of conventional open reduction approach with endoscopic approach for orbital floor repair.

Purpose: Oral cancer is the most common cancer among the Indian men and the second most common cancer among the Indian women. Such high incidence of oral cancer in India is due to consumption of tobacco in different form including smoking of cigarette. Smoke of tobacco contains different carcinogens which causes DNA damage.

It is an enveloped virus with positive-sense single-stranded RNA. Patients with COVID-19 are usually present with symptoms of fever, dry cough, myalgia, dysgeusia, nausea, diarrhoea, hyposmia and later it progresses into pneumonia.

Purpose: This study was conducted to compare the efficacy of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) arthrocentesis, duloxetine therapy alone, and duloxetine in combination with TMJ arthrocentesis in the treatment of painful TMJ.
Materials And Methods: Thirty patients with TMJ pain were included in the study who were divided into three groups with ten patients in each group. Group A included patients having only TMJ arthrocentesis; in Group B, only duloxetine therapy (30 mg) was given twice a day orally for 3 months; and in Group C, a combination of TMJ arthrocentesis with duloxetine therapy (30 mg) was given twice a day orally for 3 months.
Endothelial cell (EC) inflammation and permeability are critical pathogenic mechanisms in many inflammatory conditions including acute lung injury. In this study, we investigated the role of ATG7, an essential autophagy regulator with no autophagy-unrelated functions, in the mechanism of EC inflammation and permeability. Knockdown of ATG7 using si-RNA significantly attenuated thrombin-induced expression of proinflammatory molecules such as IL-6, MCP-1, ICAM-1 and VCAM-1.

Aim: The present study focuses on the prevalence of tobacco use and aims to determine various sociocultural aspects of tobacco use in Indian population.
Materials And Methods: The study sample comprised 384 participants. There were three study groups, and in each study group, there were 128 participants.
Background: Seeds of plants are a confirmation of their next generation and come associated with a unique microbia community. Vertical transmission of this microbiota signifies the importance of these organisms for a healthy seedling and thus a healthier next generation for both symbionts. Seed endophytic bacterial community composition is guided by plant genotype and many environmental factors.
