Article Synopsis
  • - Leiomyomas are benign tumors, and while uterine versions are common, vulval leiomyomas are rare; this case involves a 41-year-old woman with a significant mass in her vulva and discomfort.
  • - A preoperative ultrasound indicated a likely vulval leiomyoma, leading to surgical excision, but the patient experienced acute postoperative delirium shortly after the procedure.
  • - After treatment for delirium, which included medication and electrolyte correction, the patient recovered well, and follow-up confirmed no recurrence, highlighting the need for awareness of postoperative complications in gynecological practices.

She was treated surgically by total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy with a preoperative diagnosis of right ovarian teratoma.

India noticed a surge in maternal mortality and stillbirth rate during the COVID-19 pandemic. This rise in mortality is not always due to viral infection by COVID-19 but is probably contributed by other determinants. We present a case of maternal mortality with stillbirth in a multigravida, at 41 weeks' gestation, with bronchial asthma, severe preeclampsia, fetal bradycardia, severe symptoms of flu infection, and a previous cesarean delivery.

Evaluation of the toxic effects of a widely used synthetic pyrethroid, deltamethrin (DM), was carried out in this study. This pesticide is preferred for pest control because of its low environmental persistence and toxicity. We investigated the expression pattern of four genes, namely, you ( you), yot ( you-too), momo ( mom) and ubo ( u-boot) during early development of zebrafish, that is, from 12 hpf to 48 hpf stages.
