Background: Premature coronary artery diseases (PCAD) is a major health concern. Finding the potential risk factors for this health issue is crucial for early detection and prevention. This study aimed to evaluate the relation between age at menarche and PCAD presence and severity.

Depression, anxiety, stress and related factors among husbands of Iranian women with cancer: A cross-sectional study.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of depression, anxiety, and stress and their related factors in husbands of women with cancer.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 400 husbands of women with cancer who referred to two cancer referral centers in Kashan (Isfahan, Iran) from April to August 2022. The demographic and medical data, the Larson Satisfaction Questionnaire (LSQ), and the Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21) were collected.

Association between the rs2241883 polymorphism of the fatty acid-binding protein-1 (FABP1) gene and obesity in a population of MASHAD study cohort.

Background And Aims: The fatty acid-binding proteins (FABPs) gene polymorphisms are related to several metabolic properties. We investigated the association of SNPs rs2241883 of FABP 1 gene with obesity to evaluate the role of FABP1 gene in the pathogenesis of obesity in the population of MASHAD study cohort.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 2731 individuals (1883 Obese and 848 nonobese) aged 35 to 65 years old, were enrolled from the Mashhad Stroke and Heart Atherosclerotic Disorder (MASHAD) study cohort.

Sertaconazole versus Clotrimazole and Miconazole Creams in the Treatment of Otomycosis: A Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial.

Introduction: Fungal otitis extern or otomycosis, is common worldwide, and resistance of fungal organisms to antifungal drugs has been reported in otomycosis and other fungal infections. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy of sertaconazole versus placebo, as well as miconazole and clotrimazole topical creams in otomycosis patients.

Materials And Methods: In this double-blinded clinical trial, 138 otomycosis patients (230 ears) were evaluated in four groups.

Acute impending compartment syndrome during elective spine surgery: a rare occurrence.

Intraoperative impending compartment syndrome (ICS) is an extremely rare but lethal occurrence that can involve the upper and/or lower limb(s). It commonly occurs in patients who undergo anaesthesia in various special positions such as lithotomy, lateral decubitus or prone. We present a patient who developed an ICS of his left forearm during a cervical spine surgery in prone position.

Dietary protein is the strong predictor of coronary artery disease; a data mining approach.

Backgrounds: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the major cause of mortality and morbidity globally. Diet is known to contribute to CAD risk, and the dietary intake of specific macro- or micro-nutrients might be potential predictors of CAD risk. Machine learning methods may be helpful in the analysis of the contribution of several parameters in dietary including macro- and micro-nutrients to CAD risk.

A rare case report - Ovary attached to testicle inside hernia sac.

We report the case of a 67-year-old man, father of 3 children with left indirect inguinal hernia containing uterus with cervix, fallopian tube and an ovary attached to the testicle, also spread ovarian tissue and right congenital cryptorchidism. Coincidentally detected during an operation for left inguinal hernia. Persistent Mullerian duct syndrome is a rare form of male pseudo-hermaphroditism detected coincidently during surgical operation on cryptorchidism or inguinal hernia.

Shigella is an intracellular bacterial pathogen that causes bacterial dysentery called shigellosis. The assessment of pro- and anti-inflammatory mediators produced by immune cells against this bacteria are vital in identifying the effectiveness of the immune reaction in protecting the host. In Malaysia, Shigella is ranked as the third most common bacteria causing diarrheal disease among children below 5 years old.

Background: Systemic inflammation is emerging as an important factor in the etiology of psychiatric disorders such as depression and anxiety. Therefore, the inflammatory potential of the diet may also be an etiological factor for these conditions, and this may be estimated by calculating the dietary inflammatory index (DII®) score. We aimed to investigate the association between DII score and incidence of depression and anxiety among a representative sample in northeastern Iran.

Esophageal Foreign Body: A Case Report of a Refractory Croup in a 20-Month-Old Boy.

Introduction: Foreign body ingestion is common among children and more common in boys and in children under the age of 3. It can present with a wide variety of symptoms like dysphagia and drooling or symptoms related to the upper aerodigestive tract.

Introduction: A case of malign hemorrhagic renal cyst in a 32 - year-old woman is reported. The patient was admitted to our hospital for further evaluation of right upper abdominal mass. CT scan and ultrasonic sonography showed a right giant renal cystic mass.

Background: Lead poisoning has been an old but perpetual public health problem in developing countries. Lead has an adverse effect on fertility, and this study aimed to examine the effect of consuming green tea extract (GTE) on fertility parameters in rats exposed to lead.

Materials And Methods: In this experimental study, 70 rats have been classified, as it is described later, into 4 groups of 10 and were studied over 2 months.

The efficacy of erythropoietin mouthwash in prevention of oral mucositis in patients undergoing autologous hematopoietic SCT: a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial.

Oral mucositis (OM) as a complication of high-dose chemotherapy is frequently occurred in hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) settings. Erythropoietin (EPO) has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and wound-healing properties and therefore could have an important role in the prevention of OM. We conducted a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial to evaluate the EPO mouthwash effect on OM incidence and severity in 80 patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, Hodgkin disease (HD) or multiple myeloma, undergoing autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Motility and fertilizing ability of cryopreserved Caspian brown trout (Salmo trutta caspius) sperm: Effect of post-thaw storage time and different sperm-to-egg ratios.

This study was designed to test the effect of post-thaw storage time on sperm motility parameters of Caspian brown trout (n=7). Furthermore, we investigated the effect of sperm-to-egg ratios of 100,000:1, 300,000:1 and 600,000:1 on fertility of cryopreserved Caspian brown semen. Quality was assessed by measuring sperm motility parameters and fertilization rates at the eyed and hatching stages.
