CRISPR/Cas12a-based diagnostics have great potential for sensing nucleic acids, but their application is limited by the sequence-dependent property. A platform termed miR-Cabiner (a universal NA sensing platform based on self-stacking scaded cyclic DA circuit-mdiated CISPR/Cas12a) is demonstrated herein that is sensitive and universal for analyzing miRNAs. This platform combines catalytic hairpin assembly (CHA) and hybrid chain reaction (HCR) into a unified circuit and finally cascades to CRISPR/Cas12a.

Evasion of cell death is a hallmark of cancer, and the resistance of many tumors to apoptosis-inducing therapies has heightened interest in exploring alternative RCD mechanisms.
Methods: Transcriptomic and clinical data were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), Genotype-Tissue Expression (GTEx), and Chinese Glioma Genome Atlas (CGGA).

Bacterial outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) have emerged as innovative immunotherapeutic agents in antitumor therapy by stimulating the innate immune system, but intricate modifications and undesirable multiple dose administration severely hinder their utility. Herein, a two-step bacterial metabolic labeling technique was utilized for the bioorthogonal engineering of OMVs.

Ischemic stroke is a devastating condition that occurs due to the interruption of blood flow to the brain, resulting in a range of cellular and molecular changes. In recent years, there has been growing interest in the role of ferroptosis, a newly identified form of regulated cell death, in ischemic stroke. Ferroptosis is driven by the accumulation of lipid peroxides and is characterized by the loss of membrane integrity.

Analysis of miRNA and mRNA expression data in PCSCs revealed downregulation of miR-630 and upregulation of PRKCI, implying a potential role for miR-630 in PCSC function and tumorigenicity.
Results: Functional assays confirmed that miR-630 directly targets PRKCI, leading to the suppression of the Hedgehog signaling pathway and consequent inhibition of PCSC self-renewal and tumorigenicity in murine models.
Increasing evidence indicated that purinergic signalling involved in electroacupuncture (EA)-induced analgesia. Whether purinergic P2Y receptor contributes to EA-mediated analgesia remains unclear. Here, we report that the expression of P2Y receptor in the hindlimb region of the primary somatosensory cortex (S1HL) was significantly upregulated on Complete Freund's Adjuvant (CFA)-induced pain model mice, while was downregulated after EA treatment (2 Hz frequency, 1 mA intensity, and 30 min duration) at "Zusanli" (also named ST36 acupoint).

Aims: This study aims to offer a detailed overview of moral distress among pediatric nurses, focusing on understanding its characteristics, prevalence, underlying causes, and consequences on the quality of patient care.
Methods: Employing a scoping review approach as recommended by the Joanna Briggs Institute, this study will systematically search through PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, APA PsycInfo, and CINAHL databases using specific search strategies.
Objective: To investigate the effect of acupuncture on advanced cancer patients by meta-analysis.
Methods: Nine databases (the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, MEDLINE, Web of Science, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, the Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, China Science and Technology Journal Database, and WanFang Data) were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on acupuncture in advanced cancer patients published from inception to February 13, 2023 and updated to June 1, 2023. Primary outcomes were quality of life (QOL), while secondary outcomes were pain, fatigue, and adverse events (side effects).
Purpose: This study aims to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying the aging process and identify potential interventions to mitigate age-related decline and diseases.
Methods: This study utilized the GSE168753 dataset to conduct comprehensive differential gene expression analysis and co-expression module analysis. Machine learning and Mendelian randomization analyses were employed to identify core aging-associated genes and potential drug targets.
Cognitive dysfunction caused by diabetes has become a serious global medical issue. Diabetic kidney disease (DKD) exacerbates cognitive dysfunction in patients, although the precise mechanism behind this remains unclear. Here, we conducted an investigation using RNA sequencing data from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database.

However, the racemization of clusters is unavoidable, and it limits the development of their follow-on chiral applications. To address this issue, chiral thiols are synthesized and used for the construction of high-stability optically pure nanoclusters in this work.

This study aimed to determine whether acupuncture, as an adjunctive therapy to COPD-guided medication, could prevent lung function decline.
Methods: This randomised, two-centre study was conducted between February 2022 and July 2023.
Background: Facial aging (FA) is a complex process influenced by both genetic and environmental factors. Gut microbiota (GM), gut microbiota metabolic pathways (GMMPs), and blood metabolites (BMs) have been implicated in the regulation of FA, but the causal and mediating effects of these factors remain unclear.
Methods: We used summary-level data from genome-wide association studies (GWAS) of 16S rRNA gene sequencing data for GM (n = 18 340), GWAS of GMMPs (n = 7738), BMs (n = 24 925), and GWAS of FA (n = 423 999).
The manipulation of emission peaks at the atomic level and the investigation of the fluorescent origin mechanism are important issues. In this study, a phosphine-mediated modification method was employed on Au(TBBT) nanocluster to produce a new gold nanocluster Au(TBBT)(TPP). The structural comparison revealed that Au(TBBT)(TPP) has a structural framework similar to that of Au(TBBT) except for the reconstruction of its surface motifs, the addition of one gold atom into the kernel, and local structural distortion.

However, the underlying neuroprotective mechanism of this approach has never been explored from the perspective of calcium homeostasis. Intracellular calcium overload is a key inducer of cascade neuronal injury in the early stage after cerebral ischaemia attack and the Na/Ca exchanger (NCX) is the main plasma membrane calcium extrusion pathway maintaining post-ischaemic calcium homeostasis.

Currently, clinical therapeutic strategies for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) confront insurmountable dilemmas in which surgical resection is incomplete and chemotherapy/radiotherapy has significant side effects. Phototherapy offers a maneuverable, effective, and noninvasive pattern for NPC therapy. Herein, we developed a lysosome-targeted and pH-responsive nanophototheranostic for near-infrared II (NIR-II) fluorescence imaging-guided photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT) of NPC.
