Analytical errors related to endogenous or exogenous substances are a cause of unnecessary investigation, intervention, and patient concern especially in immunoassay platforms. In this report, we systematically screened for estradiol interference using a practical algorithm. For extended research in interference screening, repeated estradiol measurements for control and case samples were carried out for method comparison (three immunoassay platforms and one liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) measurement), dilution test, polyethylene glycol (PEG) precipitation, and heterophile antibody blocking tube.

Methods: Blood tests performed during the same period as colonoscopy were reviewed, and NLR, PLR, CAR, and CLR values were calculated. Based on the EAI score, patients with a score <4 were classified as having UC in remission, those with a score ≥4 as having active UC, and those with normal colonoscopy results as the control group.
Objective: To compare the demographic and clinical characteristics of familial Mediterranean fever (FMF) patients according to age at disease onset and evaluate the dose effect of the number of pathogenic or likely pathogenic exon 10 mutations of the MEFV gene on disease severity.
Methods: This medical record review study was performed on 485 pediatric FMF patients with uni- or biallelic exon 10 mutations of the MEFV gene (M694V, M694I, M680I, V726A, R761H, T267I). Patients were grouped according to age at disease onset (Group 1:<6 years; Group 2:6-11 years; and Group 3:>11 years).
Objective: Scattered white spots (SWS) seen in the duodenum during esophagogastroduodenoscopy are rare lesions. The histopathologic examination of SWS lesions reveals normal duodenal mucosa (ND), chronic nonspecific duodenitis, and intestinal lymphangiectasia (IL). The intestinal epithelium, through its barrier function, is responsible for tightly controlling antigen traffic from the intestinal lumen to the submucosa.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is a globally prevalent condition that leads to both hepatic and systemic complications. This study aimed to investigate the association between cholecystectomy and MAFLD.

Due to their broad spectrum of pharmacological and biochemical actions, they have been widely used to treat multifactorial diseases, including cancer. In addition, their demonstrated neuroprotective properties strongly support their use in the treatment of neurological diseases.

The 2023 American College of Rheumatology (ACR) / European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) APS Classification Criteria were specified as new APS classification criteria with high specificity for use in observational studies and research. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of the 2023 ACR/EULAR APS classification criteria in a real-world rheumatology department.

Materials And Methods: A total of 2094 community-dwelling males and postmenopausal females (495 males, 1599 females)aged ≥ 50 years were recruited and their demographic data along with all comorbidities and laboratory evaluations were noted. Functional measurements were also quantified and the ISarcoPRM algorithm was used for the diagnosis/confirmation of the participants into sarcopenic and non-sarcopenic categories.
Cholecystectomy generally has no adverse effects on health. Studies demonstrating the association between metabolic diseases and long-term effects of cholecystectomy are increasing. preperitoneal fat thickness (PFT) is an important indicator of metabolic syndrome.

Methods: Seventy-eight patients with AS (n = 30) and RA (n = 48) were included. Outcomes were assessed using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form, the Tampa Scale of Kinesiophobia, the Pain Catastrophizing Scale, the Body Awareness Questionnaire, and the Beck Depression Inventory.
Although the helicopter to ship transfer operation is rarely applied in ports around the world, some of the hub ports have encouraged it. The operational process poses challenges to safety due to the nature of the work to be completed by the ship crew. This article performs a systematic human error prediction to ensure safe helicopter to ship transfer operations under different circumstances since the human factor is becoming a significant contributor to maritime accidents.

Boilers are a significant part of the vessels in which the water is heated to evaporate and generate steam. The boilers emit pollutants such as hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), particle pollution, and volatile organic compounds (VOC).

Unfortunately, no prior study involved preprocedure binaural music exposure among patients undergoing upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, and this study sought to investigate its effect on anxiety and tolerance among participants undergoing sedation-free upper gastrointestinal endoscopy. The prospective, controlled, randomized trial included the participation of 96 Turkish patients aged between 18 and 70 years who were scheduled for an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, regardless of sex or illness, and were divided randomly into two different groups to undergo endoscopy, namely, the binaural beats group ( = 48) and a control group ( = 48).

Materials And Methods: 23 Takayasu's arteritis, 9 Giant cell arteritis patients and 25 healthy volunteers were included in the study. Serum LIF levels were measured ELISA.
Introduction: Monitoring LDL-C levels is essential in clinical practice because there is a direct relation between low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels and atherosclerotic heart disease risk. Therefore, measurement or estimate of LDL-C is critical. The present study aims to evaluate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Explainable AI (XAI) methodologies in predicting LDL-C levels while emphasizing the interpretability of these predictions.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the association of rheumatoid arthritis-related lung disease (RA-LD) and its subtypes with all-cause mortality.
Materials And Methods: For the present analyses, patients with RA who underwent computed tomography of the chest (chest-CT) were evaluated. RA-LD was defined in 4 subtypes as follows: interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD), airway disease (RA-AD), rheumatoid pulmonary nodules (RA-PN), and RA-related pleural disease (RA-PD).
Unlabelled: The purpose of this study was to compare the demographic and clinical characteristics of the groups with and without bDMARDs added to the treatment of persistent oligoarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) patients on methotrexate (MTX) and also to determine the predictors of adding bDMARDs to treatment. This study included 86 oligoarticular JIA patients on MTX. Patients were divided into two groups receiving MTX (n = 69) and MTX plus bDMARD (n = 17).

Objective: Aripiprazole, risperidone, atomoxetine, and methylphenidate are drugs commonly prescribed for many psychiatric conditions and can be used alone or in combination in children and adolescents. This study aimed to investigate comparatively the possible genotoxic effects or genoprotective potentials of these drugs on human lymphocytes and HepG2 cells.
Materials And Methods: Cytotoxicity analysis was performed with the cell viability test on human lymphocytes and HepG2 cells, and half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) values of the drugs were determined, and three different doses (¼ IC50, ½ IC50, and IC50) were applied for genetic analysis.
