The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of nanohydroxyapatite (NHA), casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP), and calcium sodium phosphosilicate (NovaMin®) in remineralization of early enamel lesions and compare enamel surface changes using a scanning electron microscope (SEM). Thirty human premolars were sectioned into halves and randomly assigned to five groups (control, demineralization, NHA, CPP-ACP, NovaMin®; equals 12). Ten samples in each of the three test groups were demineralized and treated with their designated paste for two minutes in 24-hour intervals for 30 days.

Background: Based on the role of properties of aligner materials on their efficiency, we aimed to assess their thermomechanical properties after thermoforming and simulated aging.

Methods: In this experimental study, 96 samples of polyethylene terephthalate glycol (PETG) aligners (Duran and Erkodur) were prepared and divided to three groups: control (C), after thermoforming (T), after thermoforming and aging (TA). Thermoforming was done through 3D-printed molds, and aging was exerted by 200 thermal cycles after immersion in 37°C distilled water for 24h.

In this study, a light cross-linkable biocomposite scaffold based on a photo-cross-linkable poly (propylene fumarate) (PPF)-co-polycaprolactone (PCL) tri-block copolymer was synthesized and characterized. The developed biodegradable scaffold was further modified with β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) bioceramic for bone tissue engineering applications. The developed biocomposite was characterized using H nuclear magnetic resonance and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy.

Gamma irradiation is able to affect various structural and biological properties of biomaterials In this study, a composite of Hap/PLGA-PEG and their ingredients were submitted to gamma irradiation doses of 25 and 50 KGy. Various properties such as molecular weight (GPC), thermal behavior (DSC), wettability (contact angle), cell viability (MTT assay), and alkaline phosphatase activity were studied for the composites and each of their ingredients. The results showed a decrease in molecular weight of copolymer with no change in the glass transition and melting temperatures after gamma irradiation.

This randomized controlled clinical trial was designed to evaluate the efficacy of single-session, non-thermal, carbon dioxide (CO(2)) laser irradiation in relieving the pain of minor recurrent aphthous stomatitis (miRAS) as a prototype of painful oral ulcers. Fifteen patients, each with two discrete aphthous ulcers, were included. One of the ulcers was randomly allocated to be treated with CO(2) laser (1 W of power in de-focused continuous mode) and the other one served as a placebo.
