Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess the outcomes of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) using non-stemmed tibial components, focusing on how body mass index (BMI) affects results.
  • Twenty-one patients with BMI≥30 and twenty-two patients with BMI<30 were evaluated, finding no significant differences in clinical outcomes or signs of loosening over a follow-up period averaging around 47 months.
  • Overall, the research concluded that non-stemmed TKA produces similar radiologic and clinical outcomes in obese and non-obese patients, indicating that BMI does not significantly impact surgery success.
