Can natural pigments in different emulgel phases stabilize each other against UV radiation? Anthocyanin and β-carotene co-loaded in an emulgel based on soy protein isolate-gellan gum conjugates.

Despite poor stability of natural pigments against degradation, using these colorants have attracted great interest due to their various beneficial effect on human health. Accordingly, in the present study, an emulgel based on soy protein isolate-gellan gum conjugate was fabricated via Millard reaction. Then, the effectiveness of emulgel on improving the stability of anthocyanin (ACN) and β-carotene (BC) with different loading concentration (5, 10, and 15 mg/mL) against UV-C irradiation was investigated.

Iran COVID-19 Epidemiology Committee: A Review of Missions, Structures, Achievements, and Challenges.

Background: Since the beginning of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic in Iran, the control and management of the epidemic were headed by the National Headquarter for the Control of COVID-19 Epidemic through setting up different scientific committees, including the COVID-19 National Epidemiology Committee. The present study reviews the missions, structures, achievements, and challenges of the Epidemiology Committee.

Safe Delivery Posts: an intervention to provide equitable childbirth care services to vulnerable groups in Zahedan, Iran.

Background: Recently, there has been a shift towards alternative childbirth services to increase access to skilled care during childbirth.

Objective: This study aims to assess the past 10 years of experience of the first Safe Delivery Posts (SDPs) established in Zahedan, Iran to determine the number of deliveries and the intrapartum transfer rates, and to examine the reasons why women choose to give birth at a Safe Delivery Post and not in one of the four large hospitals in Zahedan.

Design: A mixed-methods research strategy was used for this study.
