Burnout in healthcare workers: The effect of stress of conscience.

Purpose: The stress of conscience occurs in stressful situations that are often encountered in healthcare, leading to an uncomfortable conscience in healthcare workers. They may not be able to control their emotions and feel burnout. Therefore, the aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of stress of conscience on burnout in healthcare workers.

Gastrointestinal System Symptoms, Psychological Resilience, Emotional Self-Efficacy, and Healthy Living Behaviors in Patients Scheduled for Endoscopy/Colonoscopy.

Gastrointestinal symptoms are very common worldwide. This study aimed to examine the relationship between gastrointestinal system symptoms, psychological resilience, emotional self-efficacy, and healthy living behaviors in patients. The study was conducted in a training and research hospital in Türkiye with 258 patients who had experienced gastrointestinal symptoms and were scheduled for upper endoscopy and/or colonoscopy.

Experiences of nurses providing care to hospitalized patients with acute mania in Türkiye: A phenomenological study.

The main purpose of this study was to determine the experiences of nurses who care for hospitalized patients experiencing an acute manic episode. This qualitative study was carried out with 15 nurses working in a psychiatric ward in Türkiye. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth individual interviews and focus-group interviews in which the face-to-face interview technique was used.

Self-disclosure, empathy and anxiety in nurses.

Purpose: This study aimed to examine the relationship between self-disclosure, empathy, and anxiety in nurses.

Design And Methods: The study was conducted with 255 nurses working in hospitals in Turkey. Data were collected using a Sociodemographic Form, the Self-Disclosure Scale (SDS), the Basic Empathy Scale (BES), and the Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI).

Life satisfaction, life quality, and leisure satisfaction in health professionals.

Purpose: This study was aimed to determine the relationships between life satisfaction, life quality, and leisure satisfaction in health professionals.

Design And Methods: The study was conducted with 498 health professionals working in a city of the Central Anatolia Region, Turkey. Data were collected using Socio-Demographic Form, the Satisfaction with Life Scale, the Short Form of World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire, and the Leisure Satisfaction Scale.

The Experiences of Patients with Deep Brain Stimulation in Parkinson's Disease: Challenges, Expectations, and Accomplishments.

Objectives: Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a safe and effective alternative treatment of some movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease. Although DBS is an effective treatment for Parkinson's disease, because of the necessity of surgical intervention, follow-up and the effects on symptoms, this study was carried out to determine the challenges, expectations and accomplishments of patients with DBS in Parkinson's disease.

Materials And Methods: This qualitative study was carried out at the Neurosurgery Department of a research hospital in Turkey with seven patients who underwent DBS between 2008 and 2018.

Does the smartphone use affect the determination of daily goals: A nursing students' example?

Purpose: To examine how the risky use of smartphone in nursing students affects their daily goals.

Design And Methods: A total of 419 nursing students participated in this study. A Descriptive Data Form, Smartphone Addiction Scale-Short Version, and Daily Goals Scale were used to collect the data.

The Turkish adaptation of the compassionate communication scale: A validity and reliability study.

Purpose: To determine the psychometric properties of the Turkish version of the compassionate communication scale (CCS).

Design And Methods: The methodological and cross-sectional study design was used. The study was conducted with 319 nursing students in Turkey.

Purpose: To determine the relationship between social media usage characteristics and alexithymia in nursing students.

Design And Methods: The study was conducted with 272 nursing students between November and December 2018 in Turkey. Data were collected using an information form to determine the sociodemographic and social media usage characteristics of the students, and the Toronto Alexithymia Scale.

Compassionate love, burnout and professional commitment in nurses.

Aims: To determine the effects of compassionate love on burnout and professional commitment in nurses.

Background: Compassionate love as 'other-centred' love is referred to as altruistic love, unconditional love and unreciprocated love. Compassionate love has an important role among nurses in moderating burnout and increasing professional commitment.

Addressing the psychosocial needs of patients: Challenges for nursing students.

Purpose: To evaluate the ability of nursing students to determine the psychosocial needs of patients and identify the needs and problems encountered by nursing students.

Design And Methods: This study is a mixed method research. The nursing care plans of 40 nursing students that provided care to 129 patients with chronic medical diseases were examined retrospectively.

Resilience in nurses in terms of perceived social support, job satisfaction and certain variables.

Aim: This study investigated the resilience of nurses, the factors that contribute to resilience, and its relationship with perceptions of social support and job satisfaction.

Background: Resilience plays an important role in how nurses cope with work-related stressors.

Methods: A descriptive study was conducted with 242 nurses working at three public hospitals in Turkey.
