The purpose of this study was to test the hypothesis that warfarin may enhance free radical production and oxidative damage on cancer cells. We examined the possible concentration-dependent effect of warfarin on cytotoxicity with respect to oxidative stress on leukemia cell lines (K562 and HL-60) and normal human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC). Gamma radiation was used as a positive control agent for oxidative stress.
