Indoor environment quality (IEQ) evaluation can help improve building satisfaction and productivity of residents. However, for more efficient analysis, it is necessary to gain a large amount of data on the differences between specific groups, such as building and resident work types. In this study, we conducted an IEQ evaluation for administrators and researchers, which are occupational groups of a research institute.

Article Synopsis
  • As the use of minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS) in veterinary medicine grows, a new method utilizing a 3D printed surgical guide (3DPSSG) was developed to address issues encountered with traditional approaches.
  • A study was conducted on 15 cadaveric dogs where surgeons of varying experience used this guide during a specific surgical procedure (MI-MHC) to measure accuracy in screw placement and the effectiveness of the surgery.
  • Results showed no significant differences in screw alignment or corpectomy slot length between the two surgeon groups, suggesting that the 3DPSSG is a reliable and safe alternative for performing spine surgeries in dogs.

Objective: To determine whether a tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) performed with a customized 3D-printed guide and jig is more accurate than the traditional technique using a jig alone.

Study Design: In vitro study.

Sample Population: Cadaveric canine pelvic limbs (n = 10) and 20 synthetic bone models.

KRAS-mutant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is a major lung cancer subtype that leads to many cancer-related deaths worldwide. Although numerous studies on KRAS-mutant type NSCLC have been conducted, new oncogenic or tumor suppressive genes need to be detected because a large proportion of NSCLC patients does not respond to currently used therapeutics. Here, we show the tumor-promoting function of a cell cycle-related protein, PIERCE1, in KRAS-mutant NSCLC.

New types of ruthenium catalysts were developed for the chelation-assisted intermolecular olefin hydroesterification that employs 2-pyridylmethyl formate as an ester source. Two classes of ligands, NHCs and phosphines, were found to facilitate the reaction delivering isomeric ester products (linear versus branched) with different ratios, thus allowing access to ligand-guided selective hydroesterification.

A procedure for the Cu-catalyzed hydrocyanation of alpha-aryl diazoesters has been developed using acetone cyanohydrin as a source of hydrogen cyanide (HCN). It was found that the addition of trimethylsilyl cyanide (TMSCN) significantly accelerates the conversion presumably by delivering free cyanide ion in situ, thus producing various types of alpha-aryl cyanoacetates in high yields under mild conditions.
