Purpose: Since 1995, the Korean Gastric Cancer Association (KGCA) has been periodically conducting nationwide surveys on patients with surgically treated gastric cancer. This study details the results of the survey conducted in 2023.
Materials And Methods: The survey was conducted from March to December 2024 using a standardized case report form.
Aims: This study evaluated the efficacy and safety of a combination of phentermine and delayed-release topiramate (PHEN/TPM CR) versus placebo as an adjunct to standard lifestyle recommendations in Korean adults.
Materials And Methods: This 56-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase 4 trial enrolled adults (age 19-70 years) with obesity (BMI ≥ 25 kg/m) at eight sites in South Korea. After a 12-week lifestyle programme, participants were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to receive PHEN/TPM CR or placebo.
This study investigates the impact of excessive bleaching on the external morphology and internal microstructure of hair, compared to untreated hair. Using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), we observed significant changes in both the surface and internal structures of bleached hair. SEM analysis of normal hair revealed a relatively clean surface with intact cuticle scales, while bleached hair showed brittle, torn scales with a rough appearance.

Our model successfully classified the flavonoid isomers with various substitution patterns (3-O, 6-C, 7-O, 8-C, 4'-O) and multiple glycosides, achieving over 80% accuracy during training. In addition, the experimental spectra from flavonoid glycoside standards were acquired with different adducts, and our model showed robust performance regardless of the experimental conditions.

However, due to their clonal propagation, these fruits are highly susceptible to viral infections, posing challenges for growers. In response to the booming nursery market, the Korean plant quarantine station reported over 80 million sapling stocks, with 15% being discarded after rigorous inspection due to contamination or disease.

By using a transgenic brain tumor model derived from the TS13-64 brain tumor cell line, we digitized a total of 187 H&E-stained images and annotated the cancerous regions in these images to compile a dataset. A deep learning approach was executed through DEEP:PHI, which abstracts Python coding complexities, thereby simplifying the execution of AI training protocols for users.

This structure comprises two identical gratings placed on the top and bottom of a slab waveguide, with one grating laterally shifted to introduce asymmetry. Simulations demonstrate that lateral shifting of one grating induces extensive changes in the Q-factor with minimal frequency variation, particularly near the band-flip filling fraction because the band-flip filling fraction remains unaffected by the shifting.

This study explores the mechanisms by which AhR ligands contribute to β-cell failure in T2D. Incubation of RINm5F rat pancreatic β-cells with low-dose 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzodioxin (TCDD), the most potent AhR ligand, inhibited glucose-stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS).

Present paper explores the materials and microparticles of semi-permanent makeup tattoo needles. The surface of the five-round-shader tattoo needle used in semi-permanent makeup process was examined by scanning electron microscopy, and its elemental composition was analyzed by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.

In this study, we captured the spectral images of cement-water mixture in the near-infrared range and obtained the spectrum as a function of time. The temporal evolution of the spectrum data was analyzed using dimensionality reduction techniques to determine the dryness of cement-water mixture.

However, excessive ROS can damage cells and tissues, contributing to the development of diseases such as cardiovascular, inflammatory, and neurodegenerative disorders. This review explores the potential of nuclear medicine imaging techniques for detecting ROS and evaluates various radiopharmaceuticals used in these applications.

This study explored the modification of ATP metabolism to enhance adipic acid production in Escherichia coli, focusing on the reverse adipate degradation pathway (RADP), and ATP-consuming cycles were fine-tuned by controlling the overexpression of genes (panK and acs) to balance ATP consumption and adipic acid production. As a result, we successfully achieved a significant increase (19.

While robotic automation systems are recognized for their potential to improve efficiency, their high costs and risks make them less accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This study presents a simulation-based approach to evaluating the feasibility and impact of robotic automation on HMR production, focusing on two distinct production cases.

Purpose: This study investigated whether age affects clinical outcomes and cartilage repair quality in patients who underwent collagen-augmented chondrogenesis.
Methods: The study included patients who underwent either the collagen-augmented chondrogenesis technique or microfracture for cartilage defects of the knee joint of International Cartilage Repair Society grade 3 or 4. Patients were categorised according to an age threshold of 50 years and the treatment method, whether collagen-augmented chondrogenesis technique or microfracture.
In the tumor microenvironment, macrophages play crucial roles resulting in tumor suppression and progression, depending on M1 and M2 macrophages, respectively. In particular, macrophage-derived exosomes modulate the gene expression of cancer cells by delivering miRNAs which downregulate specific genes. The communication between macrophages and cancer cells is especially important in immunogenic tumors such as melanoma, where the cancer pogression is significantly influenced by the surrounding immune cells.
