Introduction: Intraoperative localization of tumors has been considered crucial in determining adequate resection margins during laparoscopic gastrectomy for early gastric cancer (EGC). This study has evaluated the effectiveness of intraoperative endoscopy for localization of EGC during the totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy.

Methods: Patients with EGC who received totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy from January 2018 to March 2020 were included in this study.

Objective: Laparoscopic gastrectomy has been established as a standard treatment for early gastric cancer, and its use is increasing recently. Compared with the conventional laparoscopy-assisted distal gastrectomy (LADG), totally laparoscopic distal gastrectomy (TLDG) involves intracorporeal reconstruction, which can avoid the additional incision, resulting in pain reduction and early recovery. This study aimed to compare the short-term postoperative outcomes of TLDG LADG in gastric cancer in a high-volume center.
