Introduction: Doege-Potter syndrome is a rare clinical entity characterized by recurrent hypoglycemic events caused by non-pancreatic tumors secreting an incompletely processed high-molecular-weight form of Insulin-like Growth factor-II (IGF-II).

Aim: To report IGF-II and IGF-I circulating levels in a Chilean case of Doege-Potter syndrome and control individuals, and to identify the high-molecular-weight form of IGF-II.

Methods: We measured IGF-II and IGF-I plasma levels using enzyme-linked immunoassays (ELISA) in the patient and ten controls.

Our objective is to analyze retinal changes using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) in patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to characterize structural and vascular alterations. This cross-sectional study involved 117 eyes: 39 eyes from patients with MCI plus diabetes (DM-MCI), 39 eyes from patients with MCI but no diabetes (MCI); and 39 healthy control eyes (C). Herein, we investigated the reactivity of DHP B with bisphenol A (BPA) and related compounds (bisphenol E, bisphenol F, tetrachlorobisphenol A, 2,2'-biphenol, 3,3'-biphenol, 4,4'-biphenol, and 3,3'-dibromo-4,4'-biphenol). As a previously unknown substrate for DHP B, BPA (as a representative substrate) is an endocrine disruptor widely used in polycarbonate and epoxy resins, thus resulting in human exposure.

Understanding Barriers to Network Exploration with Visualization: A Report from the Trenches.

This article reports on an in-depth study that investigates barriers to network exploration with visualizations. Network visualization tools are becoming increasingly popular, but little is known about how analysts plan and engage in the visual exploration of network data-which exploration strategies they employ, and how they prepare their data, define questions, and decide on visual mappings. Our study involved a series of workshops, interaction logging, and observations from a 6-week network exploration course.

The multifunctional catalytic globin dehaloperoxidase (DHP) from the marine worm Amphitrite ornata was shown to catalyze the HO-dependent oxidation of 2,4- and 2,6-dihalophenols (DXP; X = F, Cl, Br). Product identification by LC-MS revealed multiple monomeric products with varying degrees of oxidation and/or dehalogenation, as well as oligomers with n up to 6. Mechanistic and O-labeling studies demonstrated sequential dihalophenol oxidation via peroxidase and peroxygenase activities.

An ultra-sensitive electrochemical biosensor using the Spike protein for capturing antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 in point-of-care.

This work presents an innovative ultra-sensitive biosensor having the Spike protein on carbon-based screen-printed electrodes (SPEs), for monitoring in point-of-care antibodies against SARS-CoV-2, a very important tool for epidemiological monitoring of COVID-19 infection and establishing vaccination schemes. In an innovative and simple approach, a highly conductive support is combined with the direct adsorption of Spike protein to enable an extensive antibody capture. The high conductivity was ensured by using carboxylated carbon nanotubes on the carbon electrode, by means of a simple and quick approach, which also increased the surface area.

Children with medical complexity (CMC) and their caregivers are at increased risk for multiple psychosocial stressors that can impact child and family well-being and health outcomes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when access to supports diminished, psychosocial screening and integrated behavioral health (IBH) services in the primary care setting were crucial in identifying and addressing the unique needs of this population METHODS: Universal screening to identify psychosocial needs was implemented in a primary care clinic for CMC that includes IBH services. Data on the prevalence of psychosocial screening and IBH services for young children and their caregivers before and during the COVID-19 pandemic were evaluated RESULTS: Psychosocial screening levels remained stable during the pandemic.
