Gold nanoparticles (Au-NPs) have been explored as potential vectors for enhancing the antitumor efficacy of doxorubicin (DOX) while minimizing its cardiotoxic effects. However, the impacts of DOX Au-NPs on cardiac function and oxidative stress remain inadequately understood. This study aimed to explore the effects of DOX Au-NPs in comparison to free DOX, focusing on oxidative stress markers, inflammation, ultrastructural changes, and cardiac function.

X-ray diffraction analysis revealed changes in the network structure as a function of CaO content. The intensities of the IR bands due to the sulfate and sulfite units were lowered, indicating a decrease in the sulfurization degree within the lead network.

Adverse reactions were described in a limited number of patients and consist in local inflammatory reactions and severe acute inflammatory reactions (pseudosepsis). We present the case of a 71-year-old woman who experienced a severe acute adverse effect immediately (within minutes) following intraarticular HA administration, attributed to HA precipitation.

Thus, better absorption of light and increased participation of nanoparticles in the photodegradation process is ensured. The influence of nanomaterials on the crystalline structure, surface morphology, and hydrophilicity properties of the PVDF membrane was investigated.

The impact of nanoparticles on the viability of DLD-1 tumor cells and normal cells was evaluated. Oxidative stress and cell death mechanisms (annexin/propidium iodide analysis, caspase-3 and caspase-8 levels, p53, BCL-2, BAX, NFkB expressions) as well as proliferation markers (Ki-67, PCNA and MAPK) were evaluated in tumor cells.

NaHPO-MnO-PbO-Pb vitroceramics were studied usinginfrared (IR), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopies to understand the structural modifications as potential candidates for electrode materials. The electrochemical performances of the NaHPO-MnO-PbO-Pb materials were investigated through measurements of cyclic voltammetry. Analysis of the results indicates that doping with a suitable content of MnO and NaHPO removes hydrogen evolution reactions and produces a partial desulphatization of the anodic and cathodic plates of the spent lead acid battery.

In this work, we describe a very clear and effortless way for the preparation of magnetite nanoparticles using two types of bases, namely: 1-(3-aminopropyl)imidazole and sodium hydroxide. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) served as a tool for the structural investigation of the as-prepared magnetite nanoparticles.

SPIONs-PEG were synthesized de novo, and their structure and paramagnetic behaviors were analyzed by specific methods (TEM, DLS, XRD, VSM). Wistar rats were treated with 10 mg Fe/kg body weight SPIONs-PEG and their organs and blood were examined at two intervals for short-term (15, 30, 60, 180 min) and long-term (6, 12, 24 h) exposure evaluation.

The results obtained through bioassays were correlated with the morphological, structural and spectral data obtained through FT-IR, XPS and UV-Vis spectroscopy, powder X-Ray diffractometry (XRD) and STEM/EDX techniques, leading to conclusions that showed different photodynamic activation mechanisms and effects on bacteria and human cells, depending on the wavelength. The nanocomposite proved a therapeutic potential for blue light-activated antibacterial treatment and revealed a keratinocyte cytotoxic effect under blue and green LEDs.

In this view, we have designed and fabricated a highly efficient sensing laparoscopic instrument focused on precise non-invasive extralumenal intraoperative detection of small colorectal or gastric tumors. The equipment is fully adapted for laparoscopic surgery and consists of an inductive proximity sensor encapsulated into a watertight stainless-steel case that is connected to an electronic functional block dimensionally scaled-down by the desired form and size for optimal surgical manipulation.

Interface modified SnO-TiO composite nanoparticles were produced in two stages: first SnO nanoparticles were prepared by chemical precipitation in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and thermally treated at 500 °C then TiO was deposited on top of modified SnO and followed by a final annealing. As a consequence SnO-TiO composite nanoparticles get crystallized while PVP is decomposed into monomer units and other attached smaller molecular fragments. TGA coupled with FT-IR spectroscopy confirmed the presence of monomers and other moieties as a result of PVP thermal fragmentation.
