Introduction: The outsourcing of work activities has caused new and precarious working conditions, impacting the health and safety of workers, resulting in an increase in disease and accidents given the vulnerability established in the contemporary labor market.
Objectives: To identify the occurrence of risk of disease resulting from work, among outsourced workers.
Methods: Quantitative, observational, analytical and cross-sectional study, with application of the Inventário de Trabalho e Riscos de Adoecimento in 187 workers of a company that supplies and manages human resources for third parties, under contract with a Federal University, located in the state of Minas Gerais.
The aim of this study is to determine if the offspring of mothers with obesity, present disorders in the expression of genes related to atrophy or protein synthesis in the muscle and if these disorders are modified with the (-)-epicatechin (Epi) treatment. Six male offspring group were randomly assigned to the control groups [C and offspring of maternal obesity (MO)] or the Epi intervention groups, Epi treatment for 13 weeks (C + Epi long or MO + Epi long), or Epi administration for two weeks (C + Epi short or MO + Epi short). Method: cross-sectional research with 131 military police officers. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software and the R program.
The developmental origins of healthy and disease (DOHaD) concept has demonstrated a higher rate of chronic diseases in the adult population of individuals whose mothers experienced severe maternal protein restriction (MPR). Using proteomic and in silico analyses, we investigated the lung proteomic profile of young and aged rats exposed to MPR during pregnancy and lactation. Our results demonstrated that MPR lead to structural and immune system pathways changes, and this outcome is coupled with a rise in the PI3k-AKT-mTOR signaling pathway, with increased MMP-2 activity, and CD8 expression in the early life, with long-term effects with aging.

Considering the importance of alternative methodologies to animal experimentation, we propose an organoid-based biological model for in vitro blood vessel generation, achieved through co-culturing endothelial and vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs). Its association with the perinatal period is a particularly unique and potentially devastating clinical catastrophe which is why the approach to a pregnant woman in cardiorespiratory arrest (CRA) should be multidisciplinary and early, with extraction of the fetus ideally within five minutes after the arrest. We present the case of a 39-year-old pregnant woman, who presented with a cardiorespiratory arrest in the context of an aortic dissection with cardiac tamponade and the need for an urgent perimortem cesarean section.
