Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the advanced technique for positioning the endocardial electrodes of a cardiac contractility modulation (CCM) device.
Materials And Methods: The CCM system was implanted in 100 patients, of which 60 CCM electrodes were positioned in the most optimal zones of myocardial perfusion, in particular, in the zone of the minor focal-scar/fibrotic lesion (the Summed Rest Score of 0 to 1-2, the intensity of the radiopharmaceutical at least 30%), and in 40 patients according to the standard procedure. Before the implantation of the CCM system, 60 patients underwent tomography (S-SPECT) of the myocardium with Tc-methoxy-isobutyl-isonitrile at rest to determine the most optimal electrode positioning zones and 100 patients underwent transthoracic echocardiography at baseline and after 12 months to assess the effectiveness of surgical treatment.

The review is devoted to the mechanisms of free radical lipid peroxidation (LPO) initiated by reactive halogen species (RHS) produced in mammals, including humans, by heme peroxidase enzymes, primarily myeloperoxidase (MPO). It has been shown that RHS can participate in LPO both in the initiation and branching steps of the LPO chain reactions. Two adducts of Eu(III) tris-hexofluoroacetylacetonate with HMPA (OP(N(CH)), hexamethylphosphotriamide) and TPPO (OP(CH), triphenylphosphine oxide) were studied by optical spectroscopy and quantum chemistry (DFT/TD-DFT). The structure of the higher occupied molecular orbitals (MO) of the two adducts determines differences in the position of the excitation band maximum of hfac ligands. View Article and Find Full Text PDFAim: To study the relationship between pretest probability (PTP) of ischemic heart disease (IHD), calculated according to the recommendations of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) of 2013 and 2019, with the perfusion of the left ventricle of the myocardium according to the single-photon emission tomography (SPECT) and the results of the invasive coronary angiography (CAG).
Material And Methods: The study included 220 patients with a preliminary diagnosis of ischemic heart disease and planned invasive CAG. All patients underwent rest-stress perfusion myocardial SPECT within 1 month prior to or after CAG, standard quantitative parameters of left ventricular perfusion were assessed.
We studied antidepressant and antiparkinsonian properties of N-(5-hydroxynicotinoyl)-Lglutamic acid calcium salt (Ampasse) in rodents. It was found that Ampasse in a dose of 30 mg/kg exhibited antidepressant activity in the forced swimming test in mice and in a dose of 0.1 mg/kg maximally alleviates the symptoms of parkinsonian syndrome induced by systemic administration of 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine in C57Bl/6 mice, and haloperidol-induced catalepsy in rats.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe study examined the effect of calcium salt of N-(5-hydroxynicotinoil)-L-glutamic acid (Ampasse preparation) on neuronal activity in hippocampal CA1 area evoked by stimulation of Schaffer collaterals at a rate of 1 Hz (30 impulses during 30 sec) in the surviving hippocampal slices of Wistar rats. The records of 1st and 30th orthodromic population spikes showed that Ampasse in concentrations of 500 μM, 1, 2, and 10 mM facilitated the synaptic transmission in Schaffer collaterals - hippocampal CA1 pyramidal neurons axis; the maximum effect was observed at 2 mM Ampasse. When used in a concentration of 10 mM, Ampasse provoked epileptiform activity, which could be prevented by MK-801, a specific noncompetitive antagonist of the NMDA-receptor complex.
