Molecular recognition underlies structure formation in supramolecular architectures either in materials or in living systems. Here, we used the nanoscale nontoxic Keplerate-type polyoxometalate (POM) {MoFe} as a template for the recognition of two different guest molecules [tetracycline (TC) and doxorubicin (DOX)] on the textured surface. By means of single crystal X-ray analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), we revised the key features of the {MoFe} structure, showcasing the guest dimolybdenum units' {Mo} location under the hexagonal pores and dynamic exchange of these units during dissolution in an aqueous medium.

In this review, we explore systemization of knowledge about the triggering effects of non-genetic factors in pathogenic mechanisms that contribute to the development of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Possible mechanisms involving environmental and individual factors in RA pathogenesis were analyzed, namely, infections, mental stress, sleep deprivation ecology, age, perinatal and gender factors, eating habits, obesity and smoking. The non-genetic factors modulate basic processes in the body with the impact of these factors being non-specific, but these common challenges may be decisive for advancement of the disease in the predisposed body at risk for RA.

In this article, we report the preparation and structural features of Fe-Pd powder alloys formed by galvanic replacement, annealing and selective dissolution of iron via acid treatment. The alloys were studied by the X-ray diffraction phase analysis, Mössbauer spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and energy-dispersive spectroscopy. The Fe@Pd core-shell particles were obtained by a galvanic replacement reaction occurring upon treatment of a body-centered cubic (bcc) iron powder by a solution containing PdCl ions.

This paper presents the systematic classical consideration of a statistical averaging procedure that permits the calculation of partition function, equilibrium constant, and some observables for polyatomic dimers composed of weakly interacting rigid monomers. It was shown that the number of independent internal coordinates in a body-fixed frame is a crucial parameter that largely determines the temperature dependence of the partition function irrespective of the kinematic coupling within various degrees of freedom. The kinetic energy was derived for the molecular pair of arbitrary complexity in the body-fixed frame.

A dramatic increase of influenza activity in Russia since week 3 of 2016 significantly differs from previous seasons in terms of the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory infection (ARI) and in number of lethal cases. We performed antigenic analysis of 108 and whole-genome sequencing of 77 influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 viruses from Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Purpose: To evaluate continence after radical prostatectomy in prostate cancer patients, in whom a new method of the bladder neck reconstruction (BNR) using deep dorsal stitch was implemented (deep single stitch through all bladder layers directly dorsal to the bladder opening after ″ tennis racket″ reconstruction) and to provide justification for its use by means of anatomical study in cadavers.

Material And Methods: Open radical retropubic prostatectomy was performed in 84 patients: 39 patients with a new BNR method used to improve continence and control group of 45 patients with standard ″tennis racket″ BNR. Median follow-up was 14 months in control group and 12 months in study group.

Adsorption of SF6 on zinc oxide and on silicalite-1 was investigated by a combination of IR spectroscopy with the calculations of spectra by means of a modernized model, developed previously for liquids. Comparison of the experimental spectra and the results of modeling shows that the complex band shapes in spectra of adsorbed molecules with extremely high absorbance are due to the strong resonance dipole-dipole interaction (RDDI) rather that the surface heterogeneity or the presence of specific surface sites. Perfect agreement between calculated and observed spectra was found for ZnO, while some dissimilarity in band intensities for silicalite-1 was attributed to complicated geometry of molecular arrangement in the channels.
