Two new species of actinomycetes, Rathayibacter caricis and Rathayibacter festucae, were discovered in specific environments associated with the plants Carex sp. and Festuca rubra.
These species are classified within the genus Rathayibacter and show distinct chemotaxonomic and phenotypic characteristics compared to existing species.
Rathayibacter caricis is unique for its fucose-containing cell wall, while Rathayibacter festucae is identifiable by its rose-orange colony color.
