Purpose: The present study comparatively evaluates the performance of conventional Doppler ultrasound and superb microvascular imaging (SMI) in delineating the cortical microvessels of the transplanted kidney and compares the chronic allograft damage index (CADI) based on the examination of biopsy specimens with Doppler ultrasound and SMI findings.

Methods: Sixty-eight renal transplant recipients underwent kidney biopsy with the pre-diagnosis of rejection before undergoing renal Doppler ultrasound examination between January 2020 and October 2020. The distance between the kidney capsule and the vascular structure closest to the kidney capsule was measured at the level of the lower pole in the transplanted kidney using color Doppler ultrasound (CDUS), power Doppler ultrasound (PDUS), and the SMI technique.

Introduction: Although thyroid fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is established to have a good overall sensitivity and specificity, various outcomes have been reported on its performance in large nodules. The aim of the study was to evaluate the diagnostic performance of FNAB and the effect of the nodule diameter on its diagnostic performance.

Materials And Methods: The outcomes of a total of 7319 patients who underwent FNAB over the course of 5 years were analyzed retrospectively and 648 patients who had undergone post-FNAB thyroidectomy or lobectomy were included in the study.

Objective: Frequency of thyroid cancer in incidental thyroid nodules identified by imaging techniques in cancer patients is higher than that in the normal population. In the retrospective study, we have both investigated the incidence of thyroid cancer in incidentally identified nodules and compared the imaging techniques to determine whether there is any difference between them in detection of malign nodules.

Methods: A total of 7319 patients who underwent thyroid fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) were included in the study.

The aim of this study is to histologically compare effects of blue light-emitting diode (LED) light (400-490 nm) and Ga-Al-As low-level diode laser light (980 nm) on bone regeneration of calvarial critical-sized defects in rats. Thirty Wistar Albino rats were included in the study. The experimental groups were as follows: blue LED light (400-490 nm) group (LED); 980-nm low-level laser light group (LL); and no-treatment, control group (CL).

Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of suramin, genistein and collagen matrix for the prevention of inflammation, the reduction of fibrosis and the delay in adjustment after strabismus surgery on a rabbit model.

Methods: By using an adjustable suture technique, a recession of the superior rectus muscle (SRM) was made in 36 eyes of 18 rabbits. Three study groups were created using genistein, suramin and collagen matrix (n = 6 per group).

Sweet syndrome (acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis) is characterized by fever, neutrophilic leukocytosis, and abrupt appearance of painful erythematous nodules and plaques, particularly on the face, neck, and limbs. In this study, we report a very rare case of Sweet syndrome in which the patient presented nodular scleritis and peripheral ulcerative keratitis during the dermatologically inactive period of the disease.

Therapeutic approaches to lung adenocarcinomas differ because of their heterogeneous morphologies, prognoses, and clinical features. For this reason, new histopathologic classifications for lung adenocarcinomas were done by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer/American Thoracic Society/European Respiratory Society to form subtypes with homogeneous prognoses. There are limited clinical data in the literature on the prognosis of the subgroups formed according to the new classification.
