Plastic waste is a pernicious environmental pollutant that threatens ecosystems and human health by releasing contaminants including di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) and bisphenol A (BPA). Therefore, a machine-learning (ML)-powered electrochemical aptasensor was developed in this study for simultaneously detecting DEHP and BPA in river waters, particularly to minimize the electrochemical signal errors caused by varying pH levels. The aptasensor leverages a straightforward and effective surface modification strategy featuring gold nanoflowers to achieve low detection limits for DEHP and BPA (0.

Recently, semiconductor wastewater treatment has received much attention due to the emergence of environmental issues. Acid-resistant coatings are essential for metal prefilters used in semiconductor wastewater treatment. Perfluoroalkoxy alkane is mainly used as an acid-resistant coating agent, since PFA has inherent superhydrophobicity, water permeability is lowered.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are nanometer-sized particles naturally secreted by cells for intercellular communication that encapsulate bioactive cargo, such as proteins and RNA, with a lipid bilayer. Tumor cell-derived EVs (tdEVs) are particularly promising biomarkers for cancer research because their contents reflect the cell of origin. In most studies, tdEVs have been obtained from cancer cells cultured under static conditions, thus lacking the ability to recapitulate the microenvironment of cells .

While controlling a lower limb exoskeleton providing walking assistance to wearers, the walking terrain is an important factor that should be considered for meeting performance and safety requirements. Therefore, we developed a method to estimate the slope and elevation using the contact points between the limb exoskeleton and ground. We used the center of pressure as a contact point on the ground and calculated the location of the contact points on the walking terrain based on kinematic analysis of the exoskeleton.

Article Synopsis
  • The demand for bone graft materials is rising, with natural coral converted into hydroxyapatite (HA) and silicon-substituted for enhanced properties.
  • Different ratios of silicon-substituted HA mixed with β-tricalcium phosphate (TCP) were tested in rats for bone regeneration.
  • The mixture with a 60:40 ratio (S60T40) demonstrated the fastest bone growth in four weeks, indicating Si-HA/TCP's potential as an effective bone graft material.
