Objectives: Concern about contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) may delay the timely administration of contrast media for computed tomography (CT). The precise causative effect of iodinated contrast media on CI-AKI and its relevant risk factors remains an area of ongoing investigation. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the risk of CI-AKI following contrast-enhanced CT and its predisposing risk factors.

We aimed to analyse clinicopathologic and imaging features of HCAs in Korea and propose an imaging-based method to differentiate β-catenin mutated HCA (βHCA) from other subtypes.
Methods: This retrospective multicenter study included pathologically confirmed HCAs from three tertiary institutions in Korea between 2010 and 2023.
During DNA replication, the replisome must rotate relative to the DNA substrate, generating supercoiling that must be partitioned in front of or behind the replisome. Supercoiling partitioned behind the replisome may intertwine (or braid) daughter DNA molecules and restrict chromosome segregation. Supercoiling partitioning and torsional resistance at the replisome should depend on the geometry of the two daughter DNA molecules, determined by their end separations.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has numerous applications in radiology. Clinical research studies to evaluate the AI models are also diverse. Consequently, diverse outcome metrics and measures are employed in the clinical evaluation of AI, presenting a challenge for clinical radiologists.

We aimed to compare clinical and MRI features of the two tumors.
Methods: This retrospective study included patients with pathologically-confirmed AS or EHE who underwent MRI using gadoxetate disodium between 2008 and 2023.

Monodisperse nanoparticles of biodegradable polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) polymers, copolymers of 3-hydroxybutyrate (3HB) and 4-hydroxybutyrate (4HB), are synthesized using a membrane-assisted emulsion encapsulation and evaporation process for biomedical resorbable adhesives. The precise control over the diameter of these PHA particles, ranging from 100 nm to 8 μm, is achieved by adjusting the diameter of emulsion or the PHA concentration. Mechanical properties of the particles can be tailored based on the 3HB to 4HB ratio and molecular weight, primarily influenced by the level of crystallinity.

Prompt diagnosis and treatment of GI bleeding is critical to improving patient outcomes and reducing high healthcare utilization and costs. Radiologic techniques including computed tomography angiography, catheter angiography, computed tomography enterography, magnetic resonance enterography, nuclear medicine red blood cell scan, and technetium-99m pertechnetate scintigraphy (Meckel scan) are frequently used to evaluate patients with GI bleeding and are complementary to GI endoscopy.

It is a new type of precursor substance that is not a chemical intermediate and can be converted into a controlled substance, MDMA, by deprotection of the N-tert-butoxycarbonyl group. Categorization of this chemical into a precursor or psychotropic substance is an issue because it is an unprecedented precursor that could have misuse potential.

Experiments were generally performed in accordance with regulatory guidelines. Discrepancies, such as not considering the impact of preincubation for inhibition and free or measured in vitro drug concentrations, may be due to the retrospective nature of the dataset and analysis.

Employing near-field optical microscopy and finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulations, we systemically prove and directly visualize the Mie scattering of superspherical gold nanoparticles (s-AuNPs) at the nanoscale. Molybdenum disulfide substrates exhibited optical isotropy, while rhenium disulfide (ReS) substrates showed anisotropic behavior attributed to the interaction with incident light's electric field.

PCOs are distinguished from traditional clinical outcomes and focus on patient-reported experiences and values such as quality of life, functionality, well-being, physical or emotional status, and convenience.
Materials And Methods: We classified the value elements provided by AI into four dimensions: clinical outcomes, economic aspects, organizational aspects, and non-clinical PCOs.
Citrus fruits are one of the most widely used fruits around the world and are used as raw fruits, but are also processed into products such as beverages, and large amounts of by-products and waste are generated in this process. Globally, disposal of citrus waste (CW) through simple landfilling or ocean dumping can result in soil and groundwater contamination, which can negatively impact ecosystem health. The case of Korea is not much different in that these wastes are simply buried or recycled wastes are used as livestock feed additives.

The Li(p,n) and Be(p,n) reactions are widely used as accelerator-based neutron sources for boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT). Because the energy of the neutrons produced by these reactions is high for BNCT, a moderator is required to reduce the energy to the epithermal energy region. The neutron yields and energy spectra derived from the Li(p,n) and Be(p,n) reactions vary with the incident proton energy; a high proton energy results in a high neutron yield.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study involved 10 readers from seven hospitals with experience of 80-10210 cases, and 149 patients who underwent surgery after CRT for rectal cancer. Using MRI-based tumor regression grading (mrTRG) and methods employed in daily practice, the readers independently assessed mrTRG, CR on T2-weighted images (T2WI) denoted as mrCR, and CR on all images including diffusion-weighted images (DWI) denoted as mrCR.
Nasal endoscopy is routinely performed to distinguish the pathological types of masses. There is a lack of studies on deep learning algorithms for discriminating a wide range of endoscopic nasal cavity mass lesions. Therefore, we aimed to develop an endoscopic-examination-based deep learning model to detect and classify nasal cavity mass lesions, including nasal polyps (NPs), benign tumors, and malignant tumors.
