Reducing the risk of urethral strictures after transurethral surgery for patients with bladder cancer requires effective strategies. We compared the clinical outcomes of a novel drug-injectable urethral catheter set (NIUS) with hyaluronic acid (HA) with those of the conventional intraurethral HA injection method. This six-center, prospective, randomized, single-blind trial included 192 male patients aged ≥ 20 years scheduled to undergo transurethral surgery.

Poly ADP-ribose polymerase (PARP) acts as an important repair system for DNA damage caused by docetaxel treatment. This study investigated whether DRG2 expression affects response to PARP inhibitors (olaparib) using prostate cancer cell lines PC3, DU145, LNCaP-FGC, and LNCaP-LN3.

This study was designed to evaluate the concurrent association between multifocality, bilaterality, and the risk of recurrence in pediatric PTC.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cohort study included pediatric patients (age <19 years) who underwent total thyroidectomy for PTC between 1996 and 2014 in a single tertiary center.
This study analyzed the phytochemical composition and functional properties of leaves and green beans from seven Arabica coffee cultivars. The total phenolic and flavonoid contents were measured using spectrophotometric methods, while caffeine, chlorogenic acid (CGA), and mangiferin levels were quantified via High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Volatile compounds were identified using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS).

This study aimed to investigate the feasibility of its use as well as indication for surgical management of IBCs in pediatric patients.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records and imaging studies of patients who underwent KPE for biliary atresia from 2010 to 2020.
Nakai () is a perennial herb traditionally used to treat malaria and fever. Although the pharmacological properties of have been explored in various contexts, its effects on bone diseases, such as osteoporosis, remain poorly studied. In this study, we investigated the effects of water extracts of (WEPK) on osteoclasts, which play a crucial role in bone remodeling, and an ovariectomized (OVX) mouse model, which mimics osteoporosis.

A simple, sensitive and reliable sensing system based on nitrogen-rich porous carbon (NRPC) and transition metals, NRPC/Ni, NRPC/Mn and NRPC/NiMn was developed and successfully applied as electrode materials for the quantitative determination of carbendazim (CBZ). The synergistic effect of NRPC and bimetals with acceptable pore structure together with flower-like morphology resulted in producing a highly conductive and interconnected network in NRPC/NiMn@GCE, which significantly enhanced the detection performance of CBZ. The electrochemical behavior investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) showed improved CBZ detection for NRPC/NiMn, due to the controlled adsorption/diffusion process of CBZ by the NRPC/NiMn@GCE electrode.

However, studies comparing it with existing methods are still lacking. Therefore, in this study, we compared the initial extraperitoneal single-port robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (spRARP) with intraperitoneal multiport robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (mpRARP) and tried to investigate the feasibility of extraperitoneal spRARP.

Materials And Methods: Data from July 2013 to June 2017 encompassing 218,155 patients aged ≥18 years diagnosed with prostate cancer were analyzed using the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service database. The degree of patient outflow was assessed by dividing the regional diagnosis-to-surgery ratio with the national ratio for each year.
Biofilms developed by microorganisms cause an extremely severe clinical problem that leads to drug failure. Bioactive polymeric hydrogels display potential for controlling the formation of microorganism-based biofilms, but their rapid biodegradability in these biofilm sites is still a major challenge. To overcome this, chitosan (CS), a natural functional biomaterial, has been used because of its effective penetrability in the cell wall of microorganisms; however, its fast biodegradability has restricted its further use.

Metal-organic framework (MOF)-derived carbon (MDC) is a novel material that exhibits a high specific area and tunable pore sizes by exploiting the stable structure and porosity of pure MOF materials. Herein, two types of aluminum-based MOFs were used as precursors to synthesize hydrophobic microporous C-MDC and micro-mesoporous A-MDC via carbonization and activation depending on the type of ligands in the precursors.
