  • Metformin is a common medication for type 2 diabetes, but studies suggest combining it with other antihyperglycemic agents, like Yukmijihwang-tang (YMJHT), may improve its effectiveness.
  • An experiment with rats showed that while there were no immediate interactions between metformin and YMJHT, using YMJHT for several days prior increased metformin's concentration in the blood.
  • Findings indicate that proper dosing regimens for using metformin with YMJHT can optimize treatment outcomes for diabetes and kidney health.
