Background: Laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) is a type of cancer of the respiratory tract that often presents with subtle symptoms at the early stage and is susceptible to recurrence and metastasis.

Materials And Methods: To find out key regulatory genes involved in LSCC development, we downloaded LSCC-related sequencing datasets for bioinformatics analysis. WGCNA was performed on GSE142083 and differential analysis was conducted on GSE51985 and TCGA-HNSC.

Article Synopsis
  • * Researchers analyzed data from TCGA and GEO databases to identify two key gene modules linked to tumor stages and immune cell interactions, one of which (module 'yellow') relates to membrane proteins and oxidative phosphorylation, while the other (module 'green') is more involved with T cell activation.
  • * Specific long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) and protein-coding genes from these modules showed independent prognostic value for ccRCC patients and were correlated with various immune cell types, suggesting these biomarkers could help predict patient outcomes based on immune cell fractions.

Objective: MicroRNA (miR)-142-3p may function as a tumor suppressor in the development of various cancers. In this study, we measured serum levels of miR-142-3p in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) to evaluate the diagnostic and prognostic value of miR-142-3p.

Methods: Serum samples from 363 consecutive CRC patients and 156 healthy controls were retrospectively collected.

In the present study, in vitro nematicidal activity of chemical compositions from the methanol extract of Aristolochia mollissima fruits against the second stage juvenile (J2) of Meloidogyne javanica have been investigated. By using silica gel column chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 gel column chromatography methods, fourteen compounds were isolated from methanol extract of A. mollissima fruits.

Three new aristololactam derivatives, aristololactam W-Y (1-3), and three known compounds (4-6) were isolated from the fruits of Aristolochia contorta Bunge. Compounds 1 and 2 represent the first example of an N-CHOCH aristololactam derivative from natural products. Their structures were elucidated by 1D/2D NMR and HRESIMS spectra.

Objective: To assess the safety and effectiveness of intrauterine device in Chinese women.

Methods: In this multicenter randomized controlled trial, a total of 24 000 women were randomly (1:1:1) into 3 groups of Yuangong Cu 365 (YCu365), Copper T 380A (TCu380A) and Multiload Cu 375 (MLCu375). Clinical outcomes were assessed at 12 months post-insertion, including discontinuation due to pregnancy, expulsion, hemorrhage and downward displacement, etc.
