Article Synopsis
- Aim: The study evaluated how effective different irrigation devices are in removing the smear layer from root canals.
- Materials & Methods: Eighty lower premolars were used, with manual instrumentation and irrigation applied through four different systems: conventional needle, ultrasonic activation, EndoVac system, and EndoActivator, followed by examination under a scanning electron microscope (SEM).
- Results & Conclusion: The EndoVac system was the most effective in removing the smear layer, followed by EndoActivator, ultrasonic activation, and conventional needle irrigation. Statistically significant differences were found between these groups.
