This systematic review and meta-analysis compared trans-carotid artery revascularization (TCAR) as an alternative approach to carotid endarterectomy (CEA) in patients with carotid artery disease. An electronic search was conducted using PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane databases including comparative studies with patients who underwent either TCAR or CEA. Methods: All secondary peritonitis cases at our institution between 1998 and 2000 were included. Susceptibility to imipenem and amoxicillin/clavulanate of microorganisms isolated in peritoneal fluid and success rates were compared.
Study Aim: The purpose of this study was to assess the quality of life following lower limb amputation for vascular disease.
Patients And Methods: Thirty-six vascular patients operated on for 40 major amputations were reviewed to assess demographic and clinical characteristics, possibilities of prosthesis, perception of health problems and social adaptation. These data were correlated with general satisfaction and quality of life ratings, using the Nottingham Health Profile.
