Freeze-thaw cycles and compactness are two critical factors that significantly affect the engineering properties and safety of building foundations, especially in seasonally frozen regions. This paper investigated the effects of freeze-thaw cycles on the shear strength of naturally strongly chlorine saline soil with the compactness of 85%, 90% and 95%. Three soil samples with different compactness were made.

The structure of a material is an important factor in determining its physical properties. Here, we adjust the structure of the NiMnGa spun ribbons by changing the wheel speed to regulate the exchange bias effect of the material. The characterization results of micromorphology and structure show that as the wheel speed increases, the martensite lath decreases from 200 nm to 50 nm, the structure changed from the NM to a NM and 10M mixed martensitic structure containing mainly NM, then changed to NM and 10M where 10M and NM are approaching.

The construction of silicone elastomers crosslinked by a natural crosslinker under a catalyst-free method is highly desirable. Herein we present catalyst-free silicone elastomers (SEs) by simply introducing tannic acid (TA) as a natural crosslinker when using poly (aminopropylmethylsiloxane--dimethylsiloxane) (PAPMS) as the base polymer. The crosslinked bonding of these SEs can be easily changed from hydrogen bonding to covalent bonding by altering the curing reaction from room temperature to heating condition.

Steel bar corrosion caused by chloride was one of the main forms of concrete deterioration. The promotion of chloride binding capacity of cementitious materials would hinder the chloride transport to the surface of steel bar, thereby alleviating the corrosion and mitigating the deterioration. A comparative study on binding capacity of chloride in cement-fly ash system (C-FA) and cement-ground granulated blast furnace slag system (C-GGBS) with diethanol-isopropanolamine (DEIPA) was investigated in this study.

An inorganic caesium cation was incorporated into perovskite to improve the performance and stability of solar cells with a hole-transport-material free structure in ambient air. A triple cation device with a champion power conversion efficiency of over 15% was achieved, exhibiting superior thermal, long-term and operational stabilities.
