Just like in other medical specialties, medical malpractice claims arise in pathology as well. Although the exact rate of malpractice related to pathology cannot be clearly stated in Turkey, it is known to occur more frequently during the diagnosis stage, as reported worldwide. This study discusses the measures that should be taken to prevent these claims by comparing cases with alleged malpractice in pathology, evaluated by the Council of Forensic Medicine, with the literature.

The striking association with MHC-I suggests involvement of T cells, whereas natural killer (NK) cell involvement remains largely unstudied. Here we show that HLA-A29-positive birdshot chorioretinopathy patients have a skewed NK cell pool containing expanded CD16 positive NK cells which produce more proinflammatory cytokines.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to determine family caregivers' level of knowledge on pressure injury (PI) prevention.
Methods: This study used a cross-sectional and descriptive design. Data were collected between February and May 2023.
Purpose: To evaluate the safety and tolerability of a single intravitreal injection of JNJ-81201887 (JNJ-1887) in patients with geographic atrophy (GA) secondary to advanced dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Design: Phase 1, open-label, single-center, first-in-human clinical study.
Participants: Adult patients (≥50 years of age) with GA secondary to AMD in the study-treated eye (treated eye) with Snellen best-corrected visual acuity of 20/200 or worse in the treated eye (20/80 or worse after the first 3 patients), a total GA lesion size between 5 and 20 mm (2-8 disc area), and best-corrected visual acuity of 20/800 or better in fellow, nontreated eye were included.
Purpose: To evaluate the incidence, remission, and relapse of post-surgical cystoid macular edema (PCME) following cataract surgery in inflammatory eye disease.
Methods: A total of 1859 eyes that had no visually significant macular edema prior to cataract surgery while under tertiary uveitis management were included. Standardized retrospective chart review was used to gather clinical data.

Background/aims: To evaluate the efficacy of intravitreal aflibercept for UME (uveitic macular).
Methods: A retrospective review of records of patients that received aflibercept for UME from January 2017 to August 2022 was conducted. The primary outcomes were mean change in visual acuity (VA) and central subfield thickness (CST) 6 and 12 months from the start of aflibercept treatment.

Methods: This prospective study enrolled 35 patients (53 renal units) aged 1-16 years who underwent subureteric injection therapy for primary VUR between July 2020 and June 2022. Preoperative ultrasound examinations measured the bladder wall thickness at the ureteral orifice, ureteral submucosal tunnel length, distal ureteral diameter, patient demographics, VUR grade, presenting complaints, bladder-bowel dysfunction, and renal scarring, and the impact of these variables on treatment success was analyzed.
