Article Synopsis
  • This study compared the choroidal thickness and vascularity metrics between patients with reticular pseudodrusen (RPD) and those with drusen in a sample of 100 patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
  • A total of 48 eyes with RPD formed Group 1, while 52 eyes with drusen were in Group 2; the study also included 40 healthy controls for comparison.
  • Results indicated that Group 1 had significantly lower choroidal thickness, total choroidal area, stromal area, and luminal area compared to Group 2, suggesting that changes in choroidal vascularity could be important for understanding RPD's pathophysiology.
